Awesome series, amazing value!
First off, let me speak to the value of this DVD set: You are getting a whole lot of bang for your buck!I have 5 of the original Stamina Reformer videos (plus one that came with the very first home Reformer or "Performer" I purchased over ten years ago) that each contain ONE workout. All together, the 5 videos cost $150 plus S&H back then, and I believe still sell for $29.99 each. For less than the price of one of those videos you can get this set, that shows the entirety of the Reformer Series, Introductory all the way through Super Advanced. And although I liked the Stamina workouts well enough, I have to admit I like these better. With these, I learned some new moves, such as going head first into the well with The Tree, that are not only tough, but very beautiful. One little suggestion I have for some of the (head)"going into the well" moves is to use a spotter, particularly if you're a newbie at the move, just in case you slip off the box or out of the strap, especially if you use a different Reformer model than is featured in the DVD. I have a Stamina Home Pro which I like but is designed just a little differently. The first time I went into the well on the Tree, I slipped on the box (I don't have a gripper pad like they use in the DVD) and almost lost my footing in the strap, and it was just a little scary to think of crashing head first onto the floor! With that said, I love these DVD's. I love the workouts and have even tried a few new moves-- that is, besides going head down into the well on the indicated moves which, besides the almost-mishap I had, is new for me and I think is absolutely cool-- like the Snake and the Twist because they were so interesting, I couldn't just sit on the couch and watch them as I intended. I had to try them! This DVD set, in my opinion, is by far, the best of the Classical Pilates Technique series. Or to put it more simply, it is the best of the best.

Good product
If you have taken Pilates class with an instructor, this tape is excellent for any and all points that you may have forgotten to perform the exercises. If you are a beginner, I would suggest a viewing or two, just looking at the taped to understand the exercises. The classical techniques are far more beneficial than some of the new, fangled techniques you see for Stott or the Windsor. Well worth the time. One watchout, the DVD did not play that well on my computer. It did fine in a player with the TV. Could be the computer but just a watchout as well.

If you like tricky exercises...
This is a fairly good DVD. It has several levels of workouts, although all are short. If you're looking for the more tricky reformer moves, they are here in the advanced section. Each section has a series that is done over a barrel, so if you don't have one (and I suspect most people w/ home equipment don't) that portion is not very useful. To be honest, I think I get a better reformer workout with the Stamina Pilates DVDs, but I like that this one offers some different moves that I can add into my regular workout.

Pilates Reformer DVD
I wanted to shock my body with some new type of exercise (I run and bike regularly.) so I received a reformer as a gift from my husband. The instructional video for the Pilates exercises was extremely easy so I thought this one would provide the progressive levels that I wanted.Although I have had to modify several exercises for my machine, I am happy to report that I find the workout challenging yet enjoyable. The instructions are simple to follow although it does take time to flow from one exercise to another without pausing the remote. I don't see being able to complete all the exercises in the advanced workout for some time which is wonderful since so few exercise DVD's are challenging.I'm looking forward to seeing the changes in my body and, one day, making it to the Super Advanced session!

Very good, overall!
I purchased this to replace my VHS pilates tapes. This is very comprehensive and I like the way you can progress from one level to the next. This DVD does incorporate other pilates equipment, so if you only have the reformer, you will need to make some modifications to your routine. The only downside to this DVD is that I wish it had music.

Great!! CLASSICAL Pilates is a world better than eclectic Pilates
These videos are great! Classical Pilates on a Gratz reformer (the only one designed true to Joseph Pilates) is amazing! I encourage everyone to explore true original Pilates. A lot of good in the take-offs, knock-offs, and slightly sloppy Pilates. But the real thing is life changing! These videos are not work-along videos, but do teach/remind you of the exercises and good form. The video for Neck and Back has a section reviewing the basic concepts that is excellent. I have been unable to find work-along videos that are Classical Pilates.

pilates cd
First I would like to say that this cd suggests it is for the same machine that I own but it is not. Second, the second CD does not work. It says error when you try to get it to play. Third, the instructors are going too fast in their instruction. I could not keep up. It was quite stressful. I contacted the seller to speak to them about the second cd and if there were any options for an exchange and they never got back to me. So, this purchase was a waste of money in my opinion! Is there a way I can exchange it for something else? Please contact me.thanks!
