Q: How long is it from the door wall to the back of the unit?

The overall installed length of the opener from the header bracket to the end of the motor unit would be 123 inches for a standard 7ft tall garage door.

Q: Is it compatible with Ford HomeLink?

Don't know but it is for Honda and Hyundai. Google Homelink for answer.

Q: I want to install this (vertically, on the wall) to open an 8' x 8' roll-up door. Will this function in this manner? Is there enough track?

I'm unsure as to having on the wall with the roll up door. However, the rail is only 7' and you would have to purchase an 8' extention kit.

Q: Does this package come with the all the parts needed for installation? I'm especially wondering if it comes with all the required tracks/rails/chains?

The carton, will include all hardware, needed for installation. Including a 7' rail.
