Morphy Richards 43970 Tea Maker, Black

I've now had this machine for seven months and I could not live without it. I'm a bit of a tea fanatic, especially Rington's loose leaf tea. The machine is so simple to operate and after adding water and tea just switch to desired temperature and strength and click "on". Come back in a few minutes to a perfect brew. I only ever need to reset my temp/strength choices if the machine is switched off at the mains, they stay set until then. I prefer to make my tea one mug at a time so it is always fresh and during the day this simply means adding another mug of cold water to the jug, add a few more tea leaves (I use full measure for first mug) and click on again. Perfect tea at minimal cost as the original tea leaves have not been "stewed" as per the normal method, the boiling water just pours over them. (I learned this when working in the Far East.) After three mugs I empty the inner basket of leaves and start again.For cleaning I simply rinse it out at the end of the day then about once a fortnight soak it with a bit of Milton solution as Morphy Richards advise to remove stains from inside. I have not descaled it yet as I live in a soft water area, but again, the instructions for that are very straightforward.So, it's simple, quick, makes a high quality brew at very economical cost, is very easy to maintain, and if ever I broke it I'd order another one within the hour.Very Highly recommended.UPDATE - 24 Dec 2012. The tea maker is still going strong and working well. The only thing that has been bothering me since I bought it is the manufacturer's recommendation to use Milton Solution (bleach) to remove the regular recurring tannin stains. For the past couple of months I have now been using washing soda instead of bleach. (It is very cheaply available almost everywhere.)I find the washing soda does just a good job if left to soak overnight and there is not the problem of getting rid of the bleach smell from the machine after cleaning.I don't know for sure, but I'm sure washing soda is a much milder cleaner than Milton Solution (bleach). If anyone can point out any pros/cons of my new cleaning method I would be grateful.*Still* a very, very good teamaker - and lifesaver! The "morning after", it is so comforting to set it away to work then go and do the morning ablutions, and then return to a perfect cuppa. Just like when I had a steward to do it for me!

A good replacement for our previous teamaker. Quick and easy to use.I like being able to select both the strength and the temperature to your own liking. Main disadvantage is that once one cup of tea has been poured the machine turns off, so a little inconvenient if your partner wants tea at a different time. Cleaning may over time be an issue since the jug can't be immersed in water making a thorough clean tricky.

I had my doubts about this machine and whether it would make a decent cup of tea. I am pleased to say that it makes a great cup of tea in a respectable time and keeps it warm until the jug is removed. It makes around four good mugs of tea 'max'. The three temperature settings allows for the brewing of green teas and black teas, I personally find the highest setting 100 degrees about right for black tea in a bone china cup as the cup does not hold the heat for long. The settings for tea strength will take a little getting used to as personal tastes we a personal matter. Only down side was not purchasing the tea maker when it was on special offer.

I was really excited when it arrived, and soon dissapointed to see how much of plastic there was, and how cheap it seemed to be. In a couple of weeks the pump stopped working and all the fun was over. I sent it back and replaced it by  Sage by Heston Blumenthal the Tea Maker, 1.5 Litre, 2400 Watt . Yes, it is more expensive, yet really really well built, allowing way more precision in setting up the time and the temperature, and I am really happy with it.

Bisher hatte ich immer die Tefal-Version des Teebereiters, da ich dieses Gerät im Büro nutze und dort recht einfach meinen Tee bereiten möchte. Nachdem ich ein neues Gerät benötigte habe ich mal ein wenig recherchiert und bin auf dieses Gerät gestoßen. Habe es nun mehrere Wochen in Gebrau un bin absolut zufrieden. Das Gerät sieht gut aus und funktioniert einwandfrei. Darüber hinaus hat mich die technische Umsetzung überzeugt.1. Die Glaskaraffe ist von Schott.2. Der Boden ist aus Edelstahl und hat in der Mitte einen Temperatursensor!3. Das Wasser kann auf drei Temperaturen eingestellt werden (85°, 95°, 100°).4. Erst wenn das Wasser die gewünschte Temperatur hat tritt eine Pumpe in Aktion, die das heiße Wasser kontinuirlich während der eingestellten Brühzeit (2-6 min.) über den Tee (im oberen Edelstahlbehälter) laufen lässt.5. Der obere Teebehälter ist so konstruiert, dass der Tee in dem heißen Wasser schwimmt und nicht das heiße wasser einfach so "durchläuft".6. Ist die Brühzeit um ertönt ein Signal und der Tee wird dann noch bis zu 20 Minuten auf der eingestellten Temperatur gehalten, sofern die Kanne nicht von der Basis genommen wird.Aufgrund der Bauart (die obere Öffnung ist für größere Hände nicht groß genug) sollte man zur Reinigung des Edelstahl-Bodens eine Bürste mit längerem Stiel verwenden. Von meiner Seite gibt es eine klare Kaufempfehlung, da durch diese Weise der Tee-Zubereitung der Tee sehr gut schmeckt und das Gerät gut zu bedienen ist. Die Kaufabwicklung und Versand von Amazon war wie gewohnt sehr gut.

Après une longue attente de réception du produit, il est finalement arrivé.Il s'avère être un produit conforme à la notice, joli, pratique et simple d'emploi.les points positifs sont :- pratique, simple d'utilisation, gout du thé,herbe ou sachet.- le filtrage du thé (il ne trempe pas dans l'eau). astucieux et bien réalisé.- belle theière, avec 3 boutons et affichage digital- choix du timming de 2 à 6 minutes et température (3 différentes)- chauffe très vite et reste chaud environ 30 minutes- théière qui peu être posée sur la table car froideles points négatifs sont:- capacité trop importante pour un couple (devrait en faire une plus petite de moitié)- théière que je trouve trop large à sa base(surement pour y planquer toute la tehnologie)Complément d'infoau 24/04/2013: aucun souci rencontré; 2 personnes de ma famille l'ont acheté sur mes conseils et en sont content. Je passe le filtre au lave visselle et il ressort nickel...je la recommande

On règle vraiment la théière à sa propre convenance . Elle fait son effet car sa forme est super-l'originale. Seul petit bémol : elle n'est pas facile à nettoyer et le verre prend vite une couleur...thé !

Sono un po 'deluso da questo prodotto. Infatti, molto bene il suo lavoro riscaldando il tè a buona temperatura e con la buona infusione, ma per mantenerlo caldo, riscalda il tè alla temperatura selezionata. A causa di questo, il tè riscaldato a 100 ° C lascia depositi al fondo della caraffa e un tè bollito non è molto buono
