This rosery. Can it be used as a neck lace, too?

I haven't done a lot of research into it, and I'm not a member of the Catholic Church, though I am doing research on it to see if it's teachings and traditions are closer to those of 1st and 2nd century church doctrine than my current denomination is. Enough about that. What I found is that you can wear a Holy Rosary as a necklace, but wearing it outside your clothes, where everyone can see it usually is frowned upon by the church, as it becomes more of a fashion statement and/or reflects a sense of personal pride (a no-no in Christianity), even if that may not be your intention. If your going to wear it as a necklace, wear it under your shirt, or in any other way in which in is inconspicuous, as a Holy Rosary is meant to be used as a tool for praying and meditating on the life of Jesus, not as a fashion statement. Again, I'm no expert on this subject, so my answer could be wrong, but that's what I've gathered so far, and it seems to fit with church teachings.
