The set comes with a little brochure that clearly explains techniques you can use with the brushes. The colors are bright and can be blended easily with the water pen. I used these on a variety of papers and they work well on all surfaces but best on cold press watercolor paper. Each pen has a colored base so they are easy to locate and sort and the caps click on tight. The water pen has a nice springy brush end and it took a while to get used to hiw much pressure to apply for the right amoint of water to come out. My pen leaks a little where it screws together but its probably moree user error than quality. The overall quality of the set is excellent and I do a lot of watercolor with traditional methods. I use these together with watercolor traditional methods. They are excellent for writing and adding fine line details because of thr crisp fine tip brush. I really enjoy using these and recommend them for artists over age 5. As an art instructor I could see very young children damaging the brush ends so if anyone is considering these for high needs learners or very young children I would demonstrate gentleness first or the brush could be ruined. The overall packaging is good and the box has beautiful art. These would make a wonderful gift.

These brush pens are amazing. The first set I got there were visible issues with the batch. One pen was actually broken and all of the pens were dry. I contacted the seller and got a reply within 24 hours. They sent me a replacement at no charge. The second set was amazing! Wet, rich colors. The nibs are soft bristles and have plenty of movement for line work and brush lettering. They are a new company and are working on the issues as they arise.The few things I would like to see changed are...Make it so caps can be put on the ends of pens.Make end caps easier to remove, many pens can be saved if people could remove end caps to put a few drops of water in the barrel.Color names on barrel.Castle Art Supply is an up and coming with student grade products. They seem to be listening to the consumers when there are issues. Can't wait to continue playing with this product!First 6 photos are from the 2nd set and the last 3 are from the first set. I did extensive research trying to find the best watercolor markers for their price, and this was the winner. I love the company Castle Art Supplies, they make good quality stuff that lasts a long time and at a reasonable price.When doing research, I was trying to find watercolor markers that had actual brush tips, these do, and they’re perfect. The only downside I see is there is not as many colors, or versatility of color as I would like there to be, but still enough to cover all your bases.

These are very nice. The colors are bold and very saturated. I think there is a way to dilute them, but I'm using them to color mandalas, so I need more precision, so I don't think that would work for my purposes. It took me a minute to figure out the best way to use them, but once I got it, I was very happy.

The pens are great, some of the colors don't exactly match the indication color on the pen itself but if you make a color cheat and refer to it then you'll have no problem. I was excited that there were 24 pens instead of the 20 I was seeing in other sets and for a reasonable price. I'm very excited to take these on my trips to paint with.The customer service was top notch too, I received emails about the company and their guarantee of their product and then a follow up to make sure everything was correct and up to snuff. I really appreciate that kind of thought which is why I'm writing this review in the first place!

It's hard to read through amazon reviews and know what you're getting yourself into. I could not be happier with these. The color comes out as soon as the tip touches the paper, it's vivid, it glides, etc. I saw some people on here saying that they couldn't blend the colors but I didn't have that problem at all. I filled up the water brush and it was blending without much effort. I recommend these watercolor pens for sure. I had no idea watercolor could be so easy to use in pen form.

Fun and easy to use water color pens for a cheap price that works great for an introductory artist. The included water pen makes blending easy and overall it’s a nice kit to experiment with. While the color palette may be limited, careful use of the water pen can expand your color range.

I bought this for my 11 year old granddaughter that loves art.I will geet a set for my self next.
