Classic game that still delivers!
I remember playing Phase 10 when I was a kid, so I was so excited to give it to my children. They're much younger than I was when I started playing...they're ages 3 and 5. But they get it! The 3 year old still needs a little bit of help, but less than I expected. The 5 year old has picked it up and loves to play whenever we have some down time. The premise is simple enough: Each player is dealt 10 cards. During the first round, everyone needs to complete "phase 1" (which is 2 sets of 3.) Once you've accumulated and laid down your 2 sets of 3, you can play onto other people's sets to get cards out of your hand. When one person has no cards left in his or her hand, the round is over. All other players count the number of points left in their hands (an 8 = 8 points, etc.). Every player who laid down cards and passed "phase 1" will go onto "phase 2" during the next round. If you didn't pass "phase 1", you repeat it until you do. This game has a minimum of 10 hands, but in actuality it usually takes much longer. It's a fun game if you have time to invest, but it's definitely not quick like Crazy 8s or Uno.Aside from this game being awesomely fun and wasting hours of my 6th grade class time, it's a good counting/ matching/ sorting/ color recognition game. It's also fun for the whole family. It's basic enough that the kids can have fun, but complex enough that the adults don't get bored. I'd recommend this to anyone who is into cards, game nights, or family activities that don't require electricity!

Easy and addictive to play
My husband and I were looking for a small game to take with us on our cruise vacation that wasn’t just a deck of cards, and on the recommendation of a friend we picked this out. It was easy enough to slip the box in the beach bag and take it with us around the ship, and we made some new acquaintances with folks that would see us playing and would join us.Its easy enough to pick up the gameplay, and you can get really competitive as you go along. It’s great for kids as well as adults, whether it’s two players or a group. I recommend slipping a piece of paper in the box (and having a pen nearby) to help keep score and track what phase you’re on, or having your phone nearby and keeping track in the “notes” section. Or, if you feel like being nerdy, a set of 10-sided dice for the phases.I should also note that you may get the urge to play again after finishing a game, especially if you’re competitive like us and want a rematch. There’s been plenty of times, on the cruise and playing at home, where we’ve had two or three games in a row. Some phases go faster than others, which adds to the fun.I recommend this to everyone to add to their game collection!

A great game
This is another great card game. It is simple, yet provides for some strategy with lots of chance by drawing cards of the top of the deck.Recommended

Awesome game!
I bought two sets one for me and one for a present. Came in on time and in great condition! Great card game for any occasion! It is confusing at first, but once you explain the rules and play the game, it is a fun game to play with kids or adults. A cool way to play if you're an adult is to play with MONEY. Yes, money! The basic rules are the same. Basically, if you put down your phase, you are safe! You won't have to pay anything. But if you do not put your phase down by the time someone discards all of their cards, you have to pay the person who discarded all of their cards first in that round. We just used quarters, but it definitely made the game a lot more competitive.Great and durable quality of the cards!

Fun for Lady's Night!
There was nothing wrong with this set, so I can't complain. You will either like Phase 10 or not. It's a personal preference. I personally love it.My sister hosted a game night at her church. She's in her mid-thirties and I'm in my late twenties. I brought my friend (my age) with me. We ended up playing with these older ladies ranging from 70s-90s! It's a game for all age-groups (we've been playing since I was about 15).You can alter the rules, as with any game, to fit your group. We decided not to keep score, for time purposes, and just said the first person to complete Phase 10 won. Made it easy. I've not taught my 8 year-old how to play because I'm a Phase 10 junky!

Fun Game
I used to play this game a lot as a kid. I recall having a lot of fun playing with 4 players as it increases the difficulty in making your phases. This is a interesting card game since you are working against others but you may be trying to have a very different type of hand than your opponents. It's offers variety too. While it similar to rummy making runs and sets, there is a phase that work on colors and there are skip and wild cards like Uno.my daughter is 4 1/2 and since I purchased this game she has become a super fast learner. She knows the difference in a run verses a set and can follow her own phase card. She still has to set all the cards down on the table and work out the hand aloud (whether she is sorting them based on sets or runs). The last few times she has hardly needed any help and she knows when she should pick up from the discard pile or draw a new card. She hasn't yet been able to follow my playing style or determine which cards she should discard or wait and keep (which is a rather difficult skill to pick up on).But I was very surprised she can practically play on her own when the age group is for 7+.The item arrived in great condition. I wish there were more than just two phase cards in the box for more players. Regardless, it's a fun family game, we have gotten a lot of use out of this deck already!

Best game ever
Originally, I wasn't sure how my kids would respond to this game. Trying it out the first time was one of the best times we have had. Lots of laughter and overall engaging for everyone who plays. With kids ranging from 10 to 19, they each wanted to play until the end. And they often ask if we can play again. Best $5 ever spent, bringing family time to the home.
