Great Light That Grows Plants
The light is well built and has a great spectrum. I am using it on a 5 gallon tall tank and it is growing some nice plants including reds. I started around 50% of intensity using more of the red, blue and white spectrum and slowly ramping up to around 70% intensity. The software is a little confusing but once you understand how to set it, it works pretty good with you being able to adjust each of the 4 colors ( red, green, blue and white) separately by 1% steps throughout the day. Giving you an almost infinite variety of looks to the lighting. I do like this light and would consider the Micmol brand on my bigger tanks.

Easy set up
The light is pretty nice. I took another reviewers advice and just used the smart life app I already had installed. It found the light right away. I set up a schedule for the light similar to what I have on my fluval light. This one has less light colors to set up. No warm white, but for the price I think it will work. It does have some preset light settings, a 24/7 one which I tried instead of my settings. It's effortless. I like the adjustable arm, it is a nice feature.UPDATE: It has been a few months. Light works well most of the time. It randomly got disconnected and wouldn't connect via bluetooth and would stay on late at night. Ended up deleting the light from the smartlife app and reconnecting it. Seems to have fixed the issue. Still like it a lot.

Works with Smart Life app
You DO NOT NEED the iMicMol app to use this! The iMicMol app is a clone of the Tuya app (as are Geeni and Smart Life). Smart Life is the most commonly used and well maintained version of this app, at least for English speakers, so use that instead. Bonus points if you already have Smart Life set up for other miscellaneous smart home products like I do.For me, it paired pretty much instantly after holding the button for 3 seconds. I use it in manual mode (no timer, just color control) and that works great. The light is responsive to changes and remembers the color settings when it loses power. This is great because it means I can control it on/off with a smart plug like I do with all my aquarium lights. The reason I docked a star is actually the strange choice of colors. Why on earth are there two rows of green leds?? My camera won't pick it up, but trust me when I say it looks sickly with all channels at 100%. I had to turn green way down for it to look decent. I do like that there are two rows of red. It just would have been so much better to have a second row of white LEDs instead of the green. Better yet, warm white on a separate channel. The light would look much more natural that way. The white LEDs used in this light are VERY cool. No warmth at all and almost skews green... The spectrum of the Fluval Plant Nano is wayyyy better, but that costs 3x as much.Overall this is an ok light for smaller tanks (mine is on a 6g aqueon cube). It has above average controls and build quality for the price, and will probably do fine with low-medium light plants.

Good Light Except 'Auto' Mode Doesn't Work
Like another reviewer, I could not get the 'Auto' mode to work properly, despite lots of troubleshooting and trying both the Micmol app and the Smart Life app (which seem to have the same functionality just wrapped in a different skins). On 'Auto' mode the light always comes on in the middle of the night, doesn't go off when it's supposed to, and doesn't ramp up/down as programmed. I returned for replacement and the replacement light had the same problem. So it is a hardware design issue, an app issue, or simply poor quality control? It is nice to have the 4-color LEDs and I like the (physical) design of the light, which works well with my UNS 45a. Comparable lights from better known brands were much more expensive. So in the end, I decided to keep the light and use it on 'Manual' mode with a separate outlet plug timer. But feels bad to not be able to use the 'Auto' feature that is supposed to work.

Awesome awesome awesome light! My coral love it!
OK! So, when I got the light, I was VERY impressed with the build quality. The lighting is amazing, the fit was perfect for what I needed.. The only issue I had was the controller and a button failure/programming issue. The light has a digital controller that sets a TON of different settings based on time for EACH spectrum of lights (White, Blue, and "Special"/red). You set the time for each setting as well, its not pre-locked. Dawn, Sunrise, Midday, Sunset, Dusk and Night. So you set up each of these for all 3 colors. VERY nice! The only issue I had was that for the "Moonlight" setting was that I had set it at some percentage other than 1% and the red at 1%, white at 0%. The blue can be at either 1% or 0%, but the others HAVE to be at 0%. Not a big issue, just different. After only having it on my coral for a day, my GSP, mushroom, and some orange coral I dunno what exactly it is, had opened up and seem waaaay happier than when I picked them up at the fish store.I have this installed in my Biocube 14 hood (gutted the old lighting system and epoxied it to the hood). PERFECT lighting with the light intensity set a little lower (otherwise its STUPID bright!!).Regarding customer service/the bad button:I contacted support for MicMol(sp?) on a SUNDAY, and got a response within a couple of hours!! Very helpful, making sure I had all of my settings correct to make sure there weren't any other issues, and then told me they were going to send me a new controller due to a faulty button.^ All of this was on Sunday, 5/13.The most impressive customer service I have ever experienced. It is now the 17th (Thursday) (like 5/17), and they shipped that controller from HONG KONG expedited!!THAT is amazing customer service!! You guys are FANTASTIC!Thank you so much!
