You need the original Smallword board game to use it. This set of three expansions is great, we had trouble understanding one of the new power (the behemoth), but otherwise it's a great addition to the original game.

Ordered this during a flash sale. Get all excited to add it to my collection... and it's a "Chuck-It Bucket with 8 Dog Balls". Well.. that was disappointing. Fine, screw ups happen, it's why they have a return feature. Setup for a replacement, arrives quickly... it's ALSO the dog balls. One time is a screw up, twice in a row with the same issue is a problem. Sent that one back too and got a refund.The actual expansion, it's fine. Adds more races and powers. Be cool to get the 1st Power Pack, but this one is fine. Nothing really to it, if you want more from SW, this helps. Just be warned, instead of hosting board game night, they might think you want to play fetch with Fido instead.

I gave this as a gift and its been a lot of fun to play with the game extensions over the past few months! Most of the races and abilities in this pack are great additions to the game. Also I'm glad the the packaging comes with a lid for the token tray - it helps keep the game from getting to be a mess in the box!

The expansion itself is a great addition to the game, however we kept getting buckets of dog fetching balls. Eventually, we gave up and got a refund and purchased elsewhere. This seems to be a recurring issue others have experienced.

The expansion is pretty straightforward, just adding more races and powers. Generally they seem balanced at first glance, though forest shrubmen seem really overpowered, and will probably be banned in my house.Four stars (even thought of giving three) is because only one reference sheet was included. Really?! Good thing I have a printer and was able to make copies of it for other people that came over to play the first time after I bought the expansion -- but crappy black and white sheets are still not exactly ideal, you know? One more complaint, albeit minor, the tray is not designed to contain all the tokens together, and white ladies and priestesses had to be put in the same section (or all behemoth tokens would have to go elsewhere). This messes with my OCD!

Me and my family love this game and this expansion is great. The characters and interesting and they don't over power the original ones. You should get this extension

Great expansion I’m sure. The chuckit dog balls I got were not quite the same. Other reviewers have also had the same issue.

It completes my small world set, and an expansion is really needed if you play with 4 or more people. The expansions also add more variety to the gameplay.
