A must for no teary eyes!
Okay,so you won't be the height of fashion and your partner may just ridicule you every time you wear them (a tad dangerous considering the fact I have a knife in my hand) but these are a must have bit of kit for the dreaded onion.A bit tight to open so don't overstretch the arms when putting them on (this is how I broke the first pair) but very comfortable when on.They come in their own pouch to keep them scratch free.Would not cut up onion without them as they do stop the fumes getting to your eyes.

like me, you suffer with the onset of tourettes ...
Does what it says on the tin.If, like me, you suffer with the onset of tourettes when cutting onions (alongside the obvious tears) the foam protector provides the user with security from natures devils spawn. Those with eyesight so bad they mistake the kitchen sink for the toilet bowl would be better served with contact lenses as the frame does not sit well on top of spectacles. And those hoping these glasses will offer the sartorial splendour of Clark Kent will be sorely mistaken. These are aimed at the more functional and pragmatic sort and may make you look more Rick Moranis in full scientist regalia.

These really are all purpose, they do keep one's eyes protected
Protecting ones eyes is so very important, and there are so many options, so why choose these?Money. These are an affordable option that don't promise too much, which means that people will inevitably use them for all manner of reasons, alternate uses of which you might be seeking for yourself - and for me it was coping with Essential Oils.Yes, they do work with Onions (as advertised), my eyes will not betray me when wearing them. However, over time I found that the lens would scuff due to it's convex design, so best kept inside the plastic case they came in. It itself also made form polymer and susceptible to the rigours of travel and frequent use, but nothing a little bit of sticky tape couldn't fix :)So why use them for Essential Oils? Well, ever gotten shampoo in your eyes, now you know, but worse!** note: the best method of dealing with oil splashes onto one's eyes is with an Alkaline solution like milk, then to wash it away with water **The Essential Oils market is one of the last to not be officially regulated for some reason, so there is a lot of cowboy nonsense going on, and a lot of trial and error. There is also a large dedicated community that comes with it, and time and time again I see people who make their own soap, or use Essential Oils for making their own balms (a similar process) or perfumes rely on these goggles as sufficient protection.** note: I would only rely on a full facial mask from the likes of 3M when dealing with Sodium Hydroxide during the "hot" soap making process **I've never worried when dealing with Essential Oils while wearing these goggles, never cried when chopping Onions (or even worse, Horse Radish), and worn a separate pair dedicated to tool work such as hammering nails or cutting down fallen branches from trees (not recommended, but better than nothing).Available in different colours, they can be segregated for different uses, although prices vary.I do find that they can fog after time, say when cleaning and you sweat and get hot, they will cloud up.The only improvement I would make would be to allow for a small compartment so that an aftermarket neodymium magnet could be placed inside, this allowing them to be magnetically "hung" on anything metallic, or of a ferrite material (e.g. a fridge).Pros:• Price and availability• They work on Onions• Coloured options for different usesCons:• Can steam up when body is hot• Non-magnetic for hanging storage

Excellent goggles
I don't know if these are the best because they're the only ones I've tried, but they do a briliant job, are comfortable, and I would definitely recommend.

20kg onions - not one tear
OK, so I needed to peel, slice and cook 20kg of onions in an evening and it struck me that a little assistance might be necessary. I react horribly to onions and I knew this was not going to be pretty. So, I invested in a Mandoline: Chef's INSPIRATIONS Premium V Blade Stainless Steel Mandoline Food Slicer, Cutter & Julienne Slicer. Best For Slicing Fruit & Vegetables. Heavy Duty & Professional. Includes 5 Different Inserts, Cleaning Brush & Exclusive Blade Safety Sleeve., highly recommended, and these goggles, and I set to. The first indication I had that these were working was about an hour in when my children came to me with streaming eyes and begged me to stop chopping - the fumes had gone into the dining room and the living room and the atmosphere was pretty much unlivable and I happily stood in the epicentre of the damage, chopping away. Excellent product.

It works!!!!!
All I want to say is that IT WORKS!! Say goodbye to tears while cutting onions! You will see some reviews that the fit isn't always right...this is true and it doesn't sit on my face perfectly. But that didn't stop it from working!! My eyes are really sensitive and this product has provided huge relief.

No more sore eyes when cutting onions.
Not exactly cheap and a little tight ( or snug ) ,but they have to be tight fitting or the onion would still be a problem............bought for me as a xmas tree gift by my partner who could see I suffered when cutting onions. Must admit when I wear these glasses I don't cry for half an hour after cutting onions. I may look a bit freaky lol but they do actually do the job so I'm more than happy to keep them in my utensil drawer.
