Q: Bought this to get stuff off a ide drive but no luck anyone got pics to show how to wire it up

This should work with an IDE drive, did you connect the power lead up ??

As far as I know it works with any SATA hard drive. I have used it successfully with a variety of drives, but not the ones you mention.

Yes just drag n drop or put all photos in 1 folder n drag folder , you could use the hard drive from xp pc as storage drive , l must point out I kept my xp pc as some disc are 32bit encryption written and they will not operate on my win 10 pc as this runs 64 bit encryption ,so check any disc that u have n make sure they work on ur win 10 pc before u lay ur xp to the bin

I don't know but the same principle applies to any hard drive I would have thought as long as connection is possible.
