Can I Use An Exfoliating Soap On My Face? Yes, but do not use exfoliating soaps more than 2 times a week. Most exfoliating bar soaps are too harsh and can cause skin irritation. The skin on the face is very delicate and some exfoliating soaps are too aggressive for the face causing the skin to become dry and irritated which results in inflammation. This action causes melanin to rise to the surface of the skin, making the skin darker. As for exfoliating, the body Exfoliating soaps can be used 4-5 times a week.
