Worked great for a watercolor class

I purchased this board for a course that I am teaching in entomological illustration. I have never used it before and found the description of its texture to be inaccurate. The package says it is the texture of claybord which is not close to true because claybord is very smooth and this product is more textured than paint-rolled, smooth drywall. It does hold color well and would be fine if you are not expecting to do fine, precise work with delicate lines.

Love the product but it’s a clay and binder surface that was shipped without any protective barrier in a loose bag envelope…on arrival I noticed the shipping envelope was torn; 2 of the 3 panels inside had rips to their liners and each of the 3 panels had damage to at least 2 corners! Simply wrapping them in bubble wrap and tape would have protected them for shipping..
