These and every other reel company are made in China. There's like 3 companies that still make them in the US. Pretty much any fishing gear you buy from a big name is coming from overseas. Even plastics aren't getting made here anymore. Throw a line in and watch the fall.

Fantastic for smaller fish

Has held up well for a "low end" spincaster. In my experience better than the standard 33's. Feels smooth and solid. Keep dirt out of it, address it with some 3-in-1 oil every once in a while and I'm sure it could last a couple years of HARD use. The line it comes with has been perfectly adequate for what I've been using it for. Pretty nice mono to my judgement. I've caught smaller sized trout (pic related), bass and crappie with it. Haven't hooked into anything larger than a couple pounds so I'm not sure how it'll handle stronger/bigger fish. I think if you played it right you could reel in a 12 pounder. All in all a perfect beginner reel and not a bad option to have in your tackle box as a backup.
