The Bowl is Lacquer coated from outside.

Q: Are the bowls food-safe out of the box, or do they need to be treated first before use like some copper bowls?

I think it needs to be treated because mine got discolored from using. I didn't know it was to be treated. I wonder how to get the dark discoloration out of it now. Thanks for asking. Now maybe you can help me, lol.
