The easiest way to keep it open at the top is to take a standard 32 gallon trash barrel with the bottom cut off. The Easy Chute is designed to fit the barrel at the top, and wont drop thru the chute.

To install it, you simply need to secure the 2 straps at the top. Typically this is done by using a 2x4 with 2 eye bolts, and maybe some rope to position it.
