Attempt to transfer data between firewire 400 cable to computer usb terminal. Does not work.

DO NOT! PLUG INTO YOUR iLink DEVICE!!!
Should have read deeper into the reviews on this product. I was sceptical on the price for what this device claims to do, but I just thought because Firewire 1394 iLink devices are no longer popular that this supplier just had a huge supply and was just getting rid of excess stock no longer supported. But I was wrong and understanding what this communication protocol entails and also what USB's is, I should have known this device was just way too small to even fit the required electronics needed to do what it claims. Total scam device. I would definitely not recommend even purchasing. On a good note, even given the less than $5 price, I did return it using amazon's free return service and not even within an hour after dropping it off at my local UPS store, Amazon had already credited my account :-) I hope more people will do the same as I did and return it, once they discover this device does not do as advertised. I'm sure Amazon not only takes away the amount paid to these sellers, but I am pretty sure Amazon also charges them extra to handle the return. The sellers are hoping most people will just chuck it in the trash and take the loss, DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT!!!! RETURN IT!!!
