CTS Certified Technology Specialist Exam Guide, Second Edition 2nd Edition

Absolutely needed if you want to pass the exam. The practice questions in the back of each of the chapters. The chapters are well laid out and then the supplemental material you will get when you register for the exam will really help you excel at this test.I studied for ~3 weeks went through all the chapters and used the online free module you will get when you sign up for InfoCommU. Definitely also a fantastic resource, but this book is definitely one of the needed study tools for the exam.

The study guide is very informative and helpful to papered for the test.The CD allows me to continue my studies, without my head stuck in a book.I use the CD more then the book, but I keep the book in my car, so in the event that I am sitting in a waiting room, and have some time on my hands, I will have the book available to continue my studying.I will know more, once I have taken the test.

Studied this book over the course of 2 weeks and passed my CTS with a 441. If you are planning to sit for your CTS I would recommend this book. Read the book through and take notes. After you have read the book all the way through, study your notes. Then, try to answer the review questions at the end of each chapter. Re-read sections relative to any of these that you missed (take notes here as well) until you comprehend the answer. In most cases it will not help just to memorize answers to the review questions or the practice test questions. You have to understand the concept behind the answer. Next, take the practice test that is on the CD that comes with the book. Follow the same instructions for this also (re-read and take notes as needed). Next, take the Infocomm online practice test and do the same with those questions. Last review all your notes and go take the test. It helped me to re-write my notes in another notebook and put them in my own words while I reviewed them. Good luck and hope this helps.

An exceptional resource for anyone prepping for their CTS exam. The practice questions are a bit dated but they do demonstrate what is required for taking the test.

Must have for CTS test preparation.The best guide I’ve seen to navigate the extremely boring human relations, management and sales aspects of the CTS certification.You think you know - but deep inside you don’t.

Awesome review guide but I just finished my exam and I would suggest looking over "audiovisual best practices" as well. It covered quite a bit of material that I saw on the exam pertaining more to the different phases and politics side of AV.

If you're in the industry and have some years of doing this "stuff" under your belt, this book is a good guide in terms of review. The questions are plentiful and a decent representation of what to expect on the test.
