Great Springs
I will agree with a lot of reviews. These springs are a FANTASTIC upgrade from the stock setup. When you pull your stock springs and compare with the progressive springs, you'll be impressed by the difference. These are great for several reasons:1. Budget. They're not expensive. They deliver a LOT of bang for buck.2. Instructions are clear and well written.3. The ride quality is NIGHT and DAY. They soak up the road better, keep your front end up in a corner and in hard braking. Take your time getting used to the feel, because it will feel different to your hands in the beginning.Worth mentioning, as I was unsure when I purchased: these are the standard duty springs. Progressive also sells a heavy duty set. I heard some saying if you're 200+ pound rider, go heavy duty. I'm 235. I'm glad I went with standard duty springs. They're plush with plenty of stiffness. I've tried hard to bottom them out. Haven't been able to yet. Progressive recommends installing HD springs if you ride two up often (I.E. close to that GVWR for the bike). I purchased both sets as I could not decide. The HD springs definitely look beefier.Bottom line: is this a race setup? Probably not. They're not gas charged cylinders. Will they excel at soaking up the trolley tracks on the Embarcadero on your way to the Golden Gate? Hell yeah.

new shocks and fork springs, one mans opinion
just a few days ago i installed 412 Series Cruise Shocks in my 2006 1200c, i was impressed. i wanted to see if these fork springs would improve the ride/handling. bear in mind that sportsters have a suspension right out of the mid 70s and weigh in at about 540 lbs and are top heavy....i live in the mountains of western nc many come here for the twisties and switchbacks. after about 300 miles on the new shocks and fork springs i went on one of my favorite rides about 60 miles of wonderful mountain roads, minimal traffic lots of curves takes about 90 min. not racing just enjoying the ride.night and day diff nope, the diff could be described as the bike wanting to go around the curves instead of making the bike go around the curves. a much improved fun factor, not once did i feel like it was the bike, rather my skill lvl that was the issue with some of the switchbacks.spent about $400 in shocks and springs, was it worth it. just depends on what you are after, if you realize that a sportster will never be a sport bike and want to have lots more fun then ya it is worth itride quality improved, better dampening, smoother ride but maybe just new shocks as the old ones had 25k on them. for me it was a good choice

Much improved handling on a 2005 XL1200C with 20k miles
When i ordered these my front suspension (stock) felt too soft and spongy. I have over 20k miles on the them and i figured it would be a good time for some maintenance. Upon draining my stock fork oil i noticed some discoloration. I disassembled the forks completely and cleaned all parts with brake cleaner. I replaced fork seals and all o rings. I decided to replace the springs and use a different brand oil with the stock dampener. This kit with Lucas 15w fork oil made a huge difference. The bike rides better than new. Drastically reduced brake dive and dramatically increased tire grip while braking. Highly recommended. My after thought is if this "budget" suspension made that big of a difference, what would a higher quality suspension do. Until i need to rework my suspension i am definitely more than satisfied with this.

Use a automotive brake like cutter to cut the preload spacers
Installed on 2006 iron 883 my bike had/has a slight wabble around 85-90 miles an hour so I replaced both front and rear suspension (rear is not progressive brand) and must say that upgrading the suspension made this bike much better no more brake dive or hard nose dive in the corners it's better on uneven roads and handles bumps and potholes with no problem my front end still has a wabble at about 80 but I think it's my tire balance since I've logically changed everything else but I ride my Harley like I robbed a bank and this is my get away vehicle and this front end is definitely a big improvement on the bumps (use a pipe cutter to cut the preload spacers) would be 5 stars if it was precut I think it's very very dumb that I had to cut my own spacers as if it's off even a 1/8 of an inch it can dramatically effect the handling of the bike I'm 230 pounds I cut the spacers at 3 1-/2 inches which is the maximum allowable tightness according to the manual

Did not contain all the parts
So while this was bought “used” it was only an “open box” used and specified it would come with all normal parts and accessories. It did not. While yes, it included the springs, it did not include the spacers or the washers the kit is supposed to contain.Already had paid to have my forks disassembled and could not afford to wait for a replacement, so I used them, but I will never trust Amazons “used” products again. Apparently their quality checks just make sure SOMETHING is in the box, not EVERYTHING is in the box. That being said, these springs were an excellent addition to my suspension setup. Bike rides like a whole different bike now.

Fantastic Improvement!
These were installed on a 1999 Honda Magna. While the bike only had 5,700 miles on it they were recommended by my mechanic during the changing of the front fork fluid. To be honest I was leaning toward them anyway because the old ones were like pogo sticks but, my mechanic kept saying wait until I can inspect the ones that are in there as you just may need the fluid changed. Hence, this review we now know I needed them. For a price point improvement this has been a fantastic improvement! The bike is handling better than new! If your on the fence...do not hesitate to get these. They are worth every penny!

Not for Nightster
These do not fit 2008 Nightster. Wayyyy too long. Not sure what these are for.

Better than new
My wife’s 06 Sportster sucked a bolt in the carb and bent the exhaust valve on the rear cylinder. Having it towed they crushed the front springs. It sat on a trailer for 2 weeks. After it was fixed, she said it shook bad in curves. The new springs picked it back up and made it handle better than when it was new. Even if yours isn’t bad, it’s definitely an upgrade for a better ride.
