Ok so the shapes are hollow. So I recommend hand washing. My gothic kid just loves these.

I love these products, but they're a little expensive for having a hollow back. The nooks and crannies make it interesting, but also hard to handwash. However, the nooks and crannies are usually far enough from the food they don't need as much attention cleaning. And if you have a dishwasher, then there's no problem at all!All in all, I don't worry about needing to replace these anytime soon.

Very sturdy and beautifully made! These cost half what the others are asking for the same set! I will buy more in the future to have a few sets around. Really am happy with these!
