Metal Shoe Horn with Wood Handle 11 1/2

Approaching the "golden years" some tasks are not as easy as they used to be.... This shoe horn is GREAT.. it is long enough to reduce the bending... We purchased a plastic one about 6 months ago, and it snapped after repeated use. This metal and wood shoe worn is very sturdy. I would recommend it!

was surprised how small it was compare to what i was expecting. the description is correct i just was expecting longer so it's totally my issue. beside that it's a pretty good horn. solid construction. if you need a small shoe horn you can put in your desk this is perfect.

Works great, I use this for my running shoes. They are always hard to get on and keep your socks in place. This is perfect for sitting on a stool to put your shoes one. It would be short if you want to stand and use it.it is also very attractive and sturdy.

This shoehorn is very easy to use. Shoes slide right on. This shoehorn is also one of the sturdiest shoehorns that I have every used. I own several and keep them all over for easy accessibility. If you are going to purchase any shoehorn, this is the one to get!

Pros: nice length (for me), good stiffness, proper thickness of metal portion; attractive and comfortable wooden handle portion; nice leather loop for hanging.Cons: The outside perimeter edge of the metal portion is a bit sharp, where the metal was sheared. It should have been heavily tumble-deburred before plating. So I am concerned that with moderate usage it will accelerate the wear of my socks (sharp inside edge) and my shoes (sharp outside edge). I think that I will end up taking my rotary Dremel and rounding the edges, but that of course will remove the protective plating along the edge.Too bad, too, because they almost got this product perfect, but as it is, I would rather have bought something else since I don't need another project, no matter how small.Frankly, I don't get the reviews that complain about the length - it is stated in listing and is correct. Anyone with a little thought should be able to take a ruler or tape measure, and bend down to determine if the length is suitable for their flexibility before ordering. The length was perfect for my needs; I just wish it had a rounded metal edge.There was also a complaint about the metal strength, and I feel it is totally adequate. Don't use the device as a crowbar (i.e., loosen your shoes a bit first) and you will have no trouble with it. If you bend this thing, you shouldn't be trusted with any tools, power or manual.

My father (84 years old) was visiting with me a couple of weeks ago and he was struggling with putting his shoes on with one of those short shoe horns. So I decided to do a little research online to see if there was an alternative and found this item with pretty good reviews. I ordered it immediately and planned to give it to my Dad the next time I saw him. However, before giving it to Dad I decided to give it a try. I have arthritis in one of my hips so I've been struggling with putting on my walking shoes for awhile now. I've never used a shoe horn before and I had pretty much resigned myself to destroying the backs of my shoes when I pushed my foot in even after I loosened the ties. Well, that has all changed now, I am so surprised and pleased at what a simple tool like this can do to make one's life easier.This long handed shoe horn is very well made with smooth edges that don't catch on my socks. The connection between the wood handle and the metal shoe horn is very solid. I am 5"6" and I can use it either sitting on a chair or standing up.I already ordered a second one to give to my Dad because I'm keeping this one.

It is exactly what I wanted. It just fits inside my purse. It is very sturdy, and long enough to do the job. We are in winter months where we need to remove boots everywhere we visit. I need a shoehorn to put boots back on. It arrived as promised, and price is reasonable.
