Odepro KL52IR torch
Hi.well I was looking for a replacement ir torch for my sightmark Wraith night vision unit.as the one that came with it was ok but could only reach out to roughly 200 yards.so I searched the web.i seen a right few but when I looked at the reviews as I do a lot had very bad comments and very expensive.then I came across the Odepro KL52IR. I checked this one out.there was no bad reviews and a few videos on you tube about it,it had everything I was looking for,a lovely carrying case.plus it came with a load of extras.(2 18650 batteries. A battery charger.a mount for torch to attach to a picatinny rail,a stepless remote switch and the ir torch itself o and various rings to seal the unit though wear and tear)anyway I was happy with it so I went and ordered it.it arrived in 4 days which was very good.couldnt wait to set it up and use it on my night vision scope.that night I set it up and away I went.the torch was fairly easy to line up with my NV.the clarity of this torch was excellent.very bright.controls were brilliant.zoom was so easy in or out from the tail cap.but distance was the best I ever had.i could reach out to 400+ yards and still see clearly.i was very satisfied with my KL52IR.Odepro have really come up with excellent torches and I am the proud owner on one of them.must say as well most of the ir lights on the web came with very high prices.but Odepro was not too expensive for a top quality torch.a great torch,as good if not better than most of the torches on the market these days.i take my hat off to Odepro.i say well done to you for producing a top quality torch.i will buy from Odepro again and look forward to using them on the land.5 stars plus to Odepro.

Part missing
It's the bracket that holds the light to the gun.

Perfect everything you need
I got this item to attach to my night vision scope add on and my night vision rangefinderBoth of these items have built in IR but are nowhere near as bright as this unit. It's like going from a torch to a floodlight but the beam is tuneable to your requirements near or farHowever the main thing I noticed was that when I used my night vision camera/ night vision range finder built in IR the image quality was ok but nothing amazingWhen I switched this device on it floodlit the whole areas with IR and my ir camera image quality is loads better I can easily identify what I'm looking at even down to seeing the texture of the animals fur.The package is very generous in the box you dont only get the torch and batteries but you get a battery charger, a couple of mounting rings one of which is an adjustable picatinny mount which would easily cost £30 on its own in the UKYou can use the IR torch on its own or it has an included rat tail (wired remote) which allows you to switch on and off and has many adjustable power selections. Personally I like the torch attached to the side of my rifle and just left switched on, then I don't need to think about it. The batteries give you a decent run time and as you get 2 batteries included you have more than enough battery life for a session. And if you need more they are general 18650 batteries which don't cost much for spares and that's only if you don't have any already in your collection, as most people do.The torch is moisture sealed and you get spare o rings, the on off button is a good solid and clicky type and it has a flash light option with half a pressThe zoomable beam is controlled by twisting the rear of the unit and it feels nicely dampedTo summariseThe product is great, solid and has a nice heft to it (like a mag light torch) it does what it says on the tin, I have no complaintsThe price is comparable to other devices of the same nature but to be fair you seem to get more extras with thisAnd delivery took 3 days (free delivery) I could have paid a few quid more for next dayVery happy customer will certainly be looking at this site again

not bad but certainly not as good as expected
after seeing a review on youtube regarding this ir illuminator. the review mentioned that it was better than the illuminator i am currently using (it would not be fair to mention the make) anyway, after purchasing the kl52 which arrived the next day i decided to take it out and try it against the illuminator i usually use. i am a gamekeeper and use nightvision scopes virtually every night so have a fair knowledge of the pro,s and cons of nv..... firstly i was impressed by the carry case the kl52 came in. on opening everything was laid out inside well and again looked impressive. i took the ir torch out, it was robust and seemed well made. then i took out the adjustable mount and on examining the windage dial found it very tight. on moving the dial the retaining nut fell off. the mount also does,nt seem to sit square so on mounting to the scope the ir torch wont sit square, not very well made in my opinion. the second problem i found was the rats tail switch was very large and had no facility to stay on unless my finger was constantly pressing it. thirdly the battery charger works off a usb cable so batteries are charged via pc not mains, again no good to me. anyway, on taking the kl52 into the field i found the claim that it was better than the ir i was using completely mis-leading, it definately is,nt.. its not a bad illuminator but the sight picture is,nt as crisp and clear as i had hoped for or been led to belive on the youtube review. all told if you are looking for an ir illuminator for short to medium range shooting its ok but i certainly wont be using it for the ranges i shoot at with my usual illuminator. all in all there are other illuminators on the market that are as good for less expense including the extra,s you get. sorry odepro but the kl52 is not for me.........16/12/18,,,, since writing this review i would have to be fair in saying that odepro sorted the problems out with the mount and switch immediately and gave excellent customer service very quickly replacing both without question, thank you very much odepro, all is good now
