Best Wireless Sax System under $850
I am a professional saxophonist and this Mic was perfect for my needs. I had about $500-$600 to spend on a wireless system and thought I was going to buy a Shure or Audio Technica system. I shopped around and this system was recommended to me. I was able to shotgun it with the other systems I was considering and liked the sound much more. I was even happier when I paid 2-3 hundred less than I was expecting. I have had the Mic for 3 years gigging with it constantly and it is still in great shape!Let me give you a few reasons why I love this Mic-Great sound on all my saxophones.-Belt pack free transmitter makes for really quick changes, easy setup/tear-down, and it still has a small profile as viewed from the audience-The receiver is also quite small. It fits on the bottom of my pedal board without any danger of resting on the stage.- xlr AND 1/4inch out allows me to send both a clean signal from my xlr out and run the quarter inch through an effects loop. Sound guys love this.- Never had a problem with conflicting frequencies or signal strength from small venues in urban centers to basketball arenas this system has deliveredObviously at $300 it isn't the worlds greatest wireless system. I had a couple problems but all were solved with a bit of normal learning curve.-Turning the mic off when the receiver is on causes a loud static. Luckily the mic comes with a mute switch so it hasn't been a problem-The mic clip isn't super firm and will fly off if you go absolutely nuts on stage if on the outside of the bell. Moving it to the inside of the bell allowed me to move more than a sax player ever should and the mic stays on just fine-The frequency is fixed and could have a conflict with other frequencies. In 3 years I have yet to have this problem and usually if there are that many frequencies in a venue they will be able to adjust their wireless equipment-It doesn't ship with a good case. I bought a $10 pistol case off amazon and hollowed out some of the foam and have been on many tours with no problems.Overall this mic is definitely worth the money and probably more! Though there are better systems out there there aren't any better for saxophone until you reach the $850 range. Though it doesn't have everything, it has what you need and really does sound quite good on saxophone. I would definitely recommend this over the $500 range shure/AT systems out there.

Beware
I'm a professional hula hoop entertainer and require a true wireless system that doesn't have a belt pack with a cord running to the headset so I can hula hoop at the same time while talking into a mic. I own a number of Samson mics, including the Airline Micro, Airline 88, and this mic. I also own a Special Projects headset mic as well.Years ago I did a show with this mic. Mid performance, an awful loud static, like nails on a chalkboard sound blasted through the speakers because the battery inside the headset mic died. We had to stop the performance to turn off the awful sound. When the battery dies in this system, the receiver will still stream static and doesn't automatically stop the signal. If you are using this mic for presentations or performances, especially if you are singing, this experience alone can be devastating, making you the performer look unprofessional. This isn't a manufacture defect, but this is what happens when your battery dies or if you forget to turn on you mic first before connecting the receiver. Even if you try to mute the mic, while it's on your head, and you accidentally turn it off, which can happen because you can't see the controls, you will still get loud static blasting through the speakers. Fortunately, Samson fixed this problem in their Airline 88 headset mic, muting the receiver output sound, if the headset mic isn't turned on or the battery dies. Also, another problem with the Samson mics, if you have long hair, it is super hard to fit these mics properly on your head.Since this mic only has a fixed frequency it's set to, if you get in an area where there is interference, there is nothing you can do. I've gotten interference before when using this mic. Also, if you plan on doing intense movements and spins there is a chance you could hear some sharp sound feedback.Overall, this mic isn't a complete piece of junk. It does have some useful purposes. It definitely is more powerful than the Airline Micro and can still be used in a lot of performing situations. However, I wouldn't recommend this mic for professionals. Instead if you want a much better true wireless system, I would go with the Special Projects True Evo Wireless System. Though it's a few hundred dollars more, I feel like it solves all these problems, and actually fits on my head perfectly. It has never fallen off. I was performing once. Mid show, one of the Samson headset mics actually fell off my head.

The 1 year warranty does not apply in Canada. After the 30 day Amazon return period you are out of luck.
We purchased this product on Amazon.ca from Samson and used it for 5 live events. It is a great unit when working, but it unfortunately died in the middle of a live event for no apparent reason. We had it for only 5 months. There was no impact or anything that should have caused it to die, so it seems to be just bad luck. When we purchased the item it came with a one year warranty, so we called Samson to get an RMA number. We were told to contact a company called Jam Industries in Quebec would handles Samson's Canadian warranty claims. So we contacted Jam and they said we had to return it through Amazon and that Jam would NOT honor the warranty. I contacted Amazon an they said there is a 30 day return window in which the product can be returned, but beyond that it would fall under Samson's warranty. I have contacted Samson telling them the situation but they have said I am out of luck. So in reality the one year warranty is non-existent for Canadian purchasers and there is NO WAY to get this item serviced. I have spent an entire day trying to to deal with it. This is a lot of money to just throw something in the trash, but unfortunately that is our only option. If you are in Canada do not buy this item.

Prodotto ideale

NiMh Rechargeable battery use.
Use in at church weekly. With a AAA NiMh rechargeable it still works many hours. I don't really know how long; I tested it for 4 hours and it was still going. Depending on the capacity of the rechargeable, your mileage could be more or less. I re-charge after each weekly use, so it more time really wouldn't matter to me. Been over a year now, works great!
