I was reading negative remarks about getting heating lamps for whelping and puppies, but decided to get anyway. Some folks think odd things like mom cannot get away from them or they might be fire hazard. I am so glad I did not listen to those remarks. The lamp is light enough to be put on side of a heavy cardboard whelping box as you can see in my picture. I have covered area mom can go to with her pups if she gets too hot but pups can stay nice and warm with heating pad under them and heat lamp of top when mom is not with them. I keep my house pretty cool, I live in southern California and even though it might be getting cold back east here in the desert we are still running the AC so this is a great way to keep your house comfortable for you and warm enough for pups. I have mine on mostly all day. I was most thankful I had during the whelping time when pups where being born and the the other pups where still wet, kept the wet puppies warm while mom was having more. Good investment.

I bought two of these lights. They burned out quickly. I bought two more. They burned out quickly too. I see a trend there. No more of these bulbs for me, thank you. These are very low quality items. Buyer beware.

Does wonder foe heating purposes for my crested gecko, she loves it.

Keeps my chicks warm

These are nice for small coops in the winter. They keep the chickens comfortable with low power consumption. I ran one continuously for about 4 months before it finally burnt out. Good value.

Don’t last very long

First bulb lasted for about a month then the glass cracked. The second bulb didn't even last 48 hours. Total waste of money
