Cardcaptor Sakura Collector's Edition 1 [CLAMP] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Cardcaptor Sakura Collector's Edition 1 Review: An Almost Perfect Edition - Cardcaptor Sakura (CCS) is arguably CLAMP's most successful series to date, and is perhaps the most famous Magical Girl series after Sailor Moon (both series appeared in the same manga magazine, Nakayoshi, in the 90s). In the world of anime and manga, CCS has acquired the same sort of legendary, "classic" status that novels by Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters have been given in the canon of English literature. 10-year-old Sakura Kinomoto lives a seemingly normal life. She struggles with maths, quarrels with her older brother, has a huge crush on the latter's best friend, Yukito, and she hangs out with her friends, particularly her own best friend, Tomoyo. That is, until the day she accidentally opens a magical book in her father's library. And thus begins her quest as the Cardcaptor: a gatherer of magical cards that would cause chaos if not retrieved. Art-wise, CCS is by far one of the most beautifully drawn manga series ever made. Absolutely stunning. The series also features incredible characters, all of whom are so likeable that one starts to care for them as if they were real. One character's story, however, has sadly not aged well: that of Sakura's friend, Rika. All fans of CCS will know what I'm referring to; newcomers will see what I mean. This should not, however, put you off by any means. As gorgeous as the cover of this new edition is, I was also, like others, disappointed that the original colour pages weren't included. The binding and pages are also somewhat delicate and should be treated with care. I am aware that this edition is based on the Japanese one which was published in 2015 in celebration of Nakayoshi's 60th anniversary; that edition too did not contain the original colour pages. However, as this is the only English edition currently in print, it will have to do. For CCS fans who are interested: on April 1st of this year, the four original CCS artbooks were republished in Japan. You can get them on Japan's desertcart page for about $25 each. It is absolutely worth it. I also highly recommend the uncut, subtitled version of the anime. Like Sailor Moon, CCS is one of (many) shoujo series that can be enjoyed by both male and female fans. Fans of CLAMP and 90s series will relish this masterpiece. Review: Very cute card - the collectors card is super cute! the book and the anime are super similar

Arrived in perfect condition
I own a copy of the omnibus edition, and it is beautiful with the color pages, page quality, and content covered. This edition is not the omnibus version, its different. It doesn't have color pages, however, not many manga are ever in hardcover, or in a larger pages. So we may not get the color pages or more manga than the previous omnibus versions, however, it is still a nice copy of the manga, and we get something new that the previous edition did not have: hardcover, and larger pages. Its a nice edition to have, and the cover is really nice. Overall satisfied.

My daughter loves it.
She was so excited to get a copy of this, and omg, is it BEAUTIFUL! Will definitely be getting her the rest of the series once she's done with this one.

Love it!
So, I was hesitant to buy it because of the other reviews saying how fragile it is, etc etc, but I really wanted to read the series (hard to get the original). Anyway, I took a chance and I am so glad I did. Unless you're an aggressive page flipper, the pages are thinner than average printer grade paper, bit not made out of tissue, and it didn't fall apart in my hands like I honestly believed it would when I got it. I loved the story, and of course, already ordered the next one!

Lovely
First I will like to point out I am new in the manga word. I was very very hesitant to buy this edition due to high amount of negative reviews BUT I am so glad I did not follow them. This edition is amazing the paper is good quality is a glossy material the color is beautiful the size is perfect I just absolutely love it. It is well with the prize.

Good edition but not the best.
The edition is lovely. The Clow Card isn't that special though but the hard back cover is nice. It has a nice rose gold detailing on the cover. Another downside is it only has 1 colored picture. Other than that it is a lovely purchase.

Five Stars! Great Shojo!
I bought the first two of these collectors edition volumes and I can't recommend them enough! I was kind of holding off on getting this series since it's so old but I can tell I'm going to love the series!! My only complaint is it took forever to get here.I did get a discount picking slower shipping even though I have prime shipping but it came 3 days later that the date expected.

This one the only one that came with good packaging! Good quality but it’s like a magazine paper not the usual paper just to inform you.

A qualidade é impecável, no entanto acho importante mencionar que em algumas páginas o traço está um pouco mais fraco, nada que me incomode no entanto. E que a folha não é de jornal, parece uma foto impressa simplesmente incrível!
