Malcolm Root's Railway Paintings

If you like railways and particularly steam trains then this book is for you.Malcolm Root is a very talented painter who has captured the essence of the railways perfectly in his paintings. This book contains over 190 of them and each painting has an informative and interesting description of the painting and its contents on the facing page. All the paintings are beautiful to behold and the book overall is a real treat.

I just love Malcolm Root's work, so hunt out every book of his paintings that I can find. They have everything: detail and atmosphere, and remind one of earlier, less hectic times.

Yet another supeb example of railway art at its' best. Again, I found this book rather difficult to put down once I had started it. In the end I decided to just review a few pages at a time. The colour plates are extremely well produced and the narrative, provided by Tom Tyler, allows one to almost relive the experience as if it were happening right there and then. I can thoroughly recommend this book to both art followers and railway enthusiasts alike, I really doubt you will be disappointed and is equally as good as his earlier book with no duplications of plates.

Yet another superb volume of first class pictures, both from the point of view of content, description and quality. Extremely well put together, with a very god narrative. If Railways and/or art are your thing, then this could be just for you. It is extremely difficult to put this book down once you have started to read/view it.

Good quality printing, illustrations are excellent quality and a handy source of reference material.

Lovely book, Excellant paintings of different period English Locos and Locations, plus an informative background to each painting, a later day Painter in the vein of Terence Cuneo, well worth the asking price.

Just fabulous ! I buy one of Malcolm's calendars every year .
