Safariland Glock 34, 35 6378 ALS Concealment Paddle Holster (STX Black Finish)

When drawing the gun from the holster, the plastic front sight of the glock 34 can scrape against the harder plastic retaining mechanism. My front sight of a brand new unfired G34 now looks like someone took a file to it and is no longer flat on top. The top left corner of the front sight is shaved at a 20 degree angle. This damage occurred within the first dozen draws of the gun from the holster.

BOUGHT THIS HOLSTER TO REPLACE A KYDEX I HAD BROKEN. WOW! WHAT A NICE HOLSTER! FITMENT FOR MY GLOCK 35 WAS ADJUSTED BY THE RETENTION SCREW IN SECONDS. PERFECT LOCKING AND FAST UNLOCKING ON THE DRAW. MY 35 DOESN'T HANG OUT THE END OF THIS HOLSTER LIKE IT DID ON THE KYDEX AND ALSO PROVIDES HIGHER SIDE PROTECTION COMING UP FURTHER ON THE GUN. INSIDE IS A REALLY NICE FELT LINING AND IS QUITE AND SMOOTH. IT'S A DEFINATE THUMBS UP FOR ME AND I WILL BE SHOWING IT TO ALL MY SHOOTING BUDDIES.

I recently acquired a G34 for target shooting and I was looking for a holster capable of protecting the full gun. There are not many options, since most holsters are for the compact (G19/G23)or full size (G17/G22) glocks. I just did not want the tip of the G34 protruding outside the holster. I searched for many options and found only two reasonably priced, including this one. I went for this model after reading a bit on glock forums. I received the holster very quickly, new. It includes a pre-assembled paddle mount, but it also comes with a belt mount as an option. IT DOES PROTECT THE ENTIRE G34, wrapping around it and leaving no area exposed. The release mechanism is a bit different than the other Kydex holster I have for my G19, but with some practice it will become intuitive. The release button is activated by the thumb and not by the trigger finger as I was used to. The only minor downside I could see at this point in time is that the rubber protection inside the holster wears out a bit into the gun, and it removes the shine of the slide in a few contact areas, by depositing a thin layer of rubber on it. I expect that after a few draws the rubber will wear out enough to not stain the slide anymore. The rubber layer can be easily removed from the firearm with a cleaning solution. All in all, that is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. I will re-assess this in a few weeks and update the review.
