I bought this to make Gluehwein with and feel there was too much Anise flavor than I'm used to having in other mulled spice blends. If using for mulled wines and don't like intense anise flavor, I recommend picking out the anise spice or using less than normal.

When I think of mulling spices, I think of cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and orange peel. This blend has all of those things, but it is all overpowered by anise. The strong licorice flavor overwhelms the others. If that’s your thing, you’ll love this blend. I picked all the anise out and it had literally made up half the blend.

I just received my spices and the jars were completely broken.

This jar of mulling spices is really beautiful. All of he spices are either whole or very chunky, not powdery little crumbles and make a beautiful presentation in the jar and floating in a cup. I use them for mulled cider. I don’t restrict them in a pouch before serving. The anise is a nice addition in my opinion, not overly forward as a flavor and again the star shaped pods are gorgeous. I appreciate it’s unique flavor and am very impressed with the freshness of the mix. I have even put cider on the stove with these spices before guests come over because they make the house smell so good!

Bought these for apple cider! Great flavor, but expensive. You only need a little at a time though. Its worth it.
