Works great and the larger bottle saves money if you use it alot.
I use this 2-3 times a week and it saves a lot of money going with the 1500ml size. Good Chinese flavor rather than Japanese or Korean.

Flavour matches the packaging, fantastic
Bought this on price, was very pleasantly surprised by at first the packaging. The box is amazing. Food Safety seal was very difficult to remove - this is a good thing. Taste via finger was great, but the true test was tamagoyaki. Breakfast was liked by everybody. Trying to find a re-use for the fantastic box it came in. Summary: buy it for the value, enjoy it for the quality.

Aromatic, Red Flavor
Low alcohol, decent salt content. Works very well for deglazing pans for sauces

OMG it comes in a big plastic bottle
I guess with the advent of microplastics awareness I *should* prefer the glass 750ml bottle, but this one is a much better value that I Didn't Even Know About. (And also, I'm much more worried about a plastic cutting board, or a hot water bottle in a car. Even cutting my hand on glass, maybe. You can't ever be 100% safe.) I wish I lived where I could get my hands on a bottle of Shaoxing *non*-cooking wine. I buy real Sherry or Marsala when I want to cook with that - all things being equal, un-salted and drinking quality is better. But this brand is far superior to the substitution of a Western wine, in my opinion, for Chinese and even just asian-"ish" recipes. With a very distinctive flavor, It's the secret ingredient that brings my stir fry a little closer to what I remember from favorite restaurants. Oh, and I decant into the now-many-times-re-used bottle. The rest awaits in the fridge. (Maybe not necessary? But can't hurt.) A bottle looks nicer on my kitchen's lazy susan where Shaoxing enjoys a place of honor.

"Decent" and a decent "Value"
There are many better Shaoxing options out there but availability and price are the reason I use this one. It is the larger bottle which is good because I use it often. It is also a little sweeter than others and although some of the more floral and intricate aspects of better ones may not be the same in this, it does to much of it. It also a little saltier than others. Soeos has many good and reliable products most of which are fairly priced for decent and consistent quality.
