Little Christmas Tree

It was a nice story with lovely illustrations with sparkle but no glitter. It is also a nice lift the flap book that isn't baby-ish. My daughter likes lift the flap, but at 2.5 doesn't want books that are geared toward one year olds. I predict this book will be a Christmas favorite for years to come in our family.

Okay little book, don't think it will become a favorite holiday read.

The Little Christmas Tree is the story of a lonesome Christmas tree with is slowly transformed into a thing of beauty. A lovely, tall board book with little lift up flaps that hide elements of nature and colorful creatures everywhere. This is not your average board book, it's special: beautiful illustrations and design - a definite keeper

The lyrical verse of this pretty board book tells of a little tree waking up in the forest surrounded by woodland animals. Surprises unfold throughout Christmas day until night and snowflakes fall. This is a lift-the-flap book with at least three tabs blending into the scene on each double page spread. Illustrations are filled with sparkles and other details. The lovely rhythm of the poem put me in mind of Emily Dickinson.

THE LITTLE CHRISTMAS TREE is about a little Christmas tree out in the forest. One might think that the tree is all alone with no one to care for it. However, as the pages turn we see through a series of lift-the-flaps this is not the case at all. There are all kinds of creatures around the tree to keep it company.
