Great value for the price. It is cheaper than if you bought all the parts separately.

Easy to build and works well.
All is good, though I do recommend you replace the included 120 ohm resistor (just one) with a 220 or 240 ohm resistor. And don’t forget to use a small heat sink mounted with heat conductive grease on the LM-317 for all but the lightest of uses (under 100 mA).

Easy to assemble (I am skilled at this kind of thing. OK, I was a professional at this kind of thing for a decade or so....) Works well. I'm using it as a current limiter in a charging circuit, but the basic design would let you use it for any kind of 1 amp DC power supply from just about any AC input voltage. See the specs.

This kit has a bridge rectifier, allowing you to run it off of a transformer. Good quality.
