A very fun book to follow!
I am having a blast going out and tracking down some of the harder oils from this book, and every night since I've had it I've made a new one to try out. I found the section on the magical correspondences to carrier oils super helpful as well.Never would I have imagined myself tracking down Ambergris dealers, buying oils from plants that only grow on specific islands, or eagerly waiting for opium fragrance to arrive in the mail. Some people might balk at that, but collecting all of these rare oils has been incredibly fun for me.If I have any complaint, it's that sometimes it's not really clear what an ingredient is actually referring to. Like "Squill", is that essential oil? Extract? Does it mean Squilla? Am I supposed to just squeeze a Squill plant out? But solving those riddles is all part of the fun.

The Best I Have Found for Making Oils
When I first read this book, I gave a negative review because I did not understand how to measure using parts as a standard reference. I have since learned that's what the author told us to do at the beginning of the book. I understand how to use this book now and I am changing my review. I love this book and find it very helpful. Its awesome! If I had read Part 1 and had I educated myself furthur in the beginning I would have understood how to use this book. I apologize to the author for my initial review. You put a lot of hard work into this book. Thank you! It is truly worth every $ and is a great resource. It opened up a whole new world showing me how to make magical oils.

Thanks For A Well Needed Book.
I have to say this book surprised me. I give it four stars for the compilation of all the oils, I don't have to look around for recipes because there in one place now. Two types of oils I know appear twice so I took off a star but then added another for the info on oils in the back of the book. Not only did this book give lots of recipes but it gave info that inspired me to create my own oils, oils I couldn't find in this book. I love when a book can inspire me, my creativity. There are several oils on basics like Health, Money, Love, Banishing, etc. but what really surprised me were the oils on Chakra balancing and the addition of carrier/base oils and there magickal properties as well. All in all I do love this book and will definitely refer back to it. Lots of info I didn't know but searched for and now I have it. Thanks for a book I really needed.

Interesting formulations for many situations
It's a nice book for beginners with many formulations for different situations. It also describes the ingredients in the magical intent correspondence chart. The chart makes it easy to design your own formulations. I used clove and slippery elm from the chart in a gossip banishing ritual. More formulas from various backgrounds would be helpful. It does not reference what to say during rituals.

Very informative
This book has helped me in my work. I've crafted several oils that have been powerful and effective. It has helped me grow in my practice. I have read some negative commentary that I do not think is fair. While I respect the use of essential oils for the purist with a bottomless budget, I do agree with the author's assertion that one's intention is what makes magick effective. Why else would practitioners assert that one can use one's finger verses an athame? I cannot say the use of fragrance oils verses essential oils has not entered my mind. I have debated this but it is also the scent that places you in a state of mind to perform magick. Have you ever opened a bottle of chamomile essential oil? I actually gagged upon opening the "Now" brand of chamomile oil and felt that the foul odor would not be benificial in my workings. I appreciate this book and I think that both types of oils have a place and Ms. Heldstab's book certainly has a place on my bookshelf.
