Q: Does this item cot sheet metal

Hi, they are designed to cut raised floor tiles which are thin steel with chipboard inbetween, and are about 40mm thick, so they will easily cut sheet steel, but are quite long if you are only cutting 1mm.

Q: Looking for jigsaw blade to cut through 75mmx75mm post. Will this do the job?

Yes they should be fine to cut through post, go slowly. I used mine to cut through a pipe in an engine that I couldnt reach.
