I only take 1 pill for normal non workout days and maybe 2 on workout days if I feel exhausted. I’m a 170-180 pound dude with 13-14% body fat and enough lean muscle to wife up the country girl of my dreams that is 17 years younger than me. This stuff gives you lucid dreams and helps you sleep deeper for sure. I recommend taking just 1-2 unless you’re way over 200 pounds of lean mass. You will get rock hard steel pipe and shooting farther for sure my friends. But don’t take my word for it. Try it out yourself. I stack it with triple extra strength fish oil caps for good measure. This really helps me get to sleep. Other magnesium products have helped in the past, but this one is noticeably better. I think the aspartate version is better absorbed and crosses the bloody brain barrier more easily than other types of mag.

Good product from a trusted brand. I went with this one because it is one of the few, maybe the only ZMA on the market which has no harmful filler ingredients like magnesium stearate or silicon dioxide. It also does not have the black pepper extract which is actually desirable. Some ZMA products contain black pepper extract claiming it boosts absorption of the ZMA. I discussed this with a notable research director at one of the supplement companies. What he told me is black pepper extract reduces the activity of one of the detox enzymes in the liver. I believe it’s a similar effect to eating grapefruit, which is why sometimes when taking certain medications doctors will say don’t eat grapefruit. The issue is that black pepper extract doesn’t actually increase absorption of nutrients like zinc, magnesium or b vitamins. But even if it did boost their absorption, it’s not something you want in any supplement product or otherwise. It boosts the absorption of drugs and hormones because it reduces their clearance from the body. The problem is it doesn’t differentiate between “good” drugs and hormones and bad ones. So unless you’re already in peak physical health, with a perfect diet where you aren’t consuming toxic hormones/chemicals and aren’t producing them in the body either, the black pepper extract will likely do more harm than good. It also is a big risk for anyone using any medications, or using supplements which can be affected by it. It doesn’t affect vitamin and mineral supplements, maybe unless it’s something the body recognizes as toxic. It likely can affect absorption of herbal and other supplements .

I’ve taken ZMA for years and have really like the supplement. I’ve always felt like I get a higher quality and deeper sleep, waking up with more energy and a clearer head. This also seems to translate into better morning workouts as well. The brand that I regularly used cheaped out and switched to oxide forms of zinc and magnesium, which have a low bio availability. So I went on the search and found the Nutrabio brand without the oxide forms, I ordered four bottles to be well stocked for the future. When I opened the first bottle, I was immediately hit with an overwhelming smell. I would compare it something similar to what potatoes that have rotted smell like if you’ve ever had that happen. I reasoned it was the natural smell of vegetable capsule and they were otherwise fine to consume. However, by the time I got to the fourth bottle, the smell was increasingly overwhelmingly horrendous. I decided to open some capsules up and determine if it was truly the capsule or the contents of the vitamins and minerals inside that were actually smelling. I was shocked to find the powder inside the capsules smelled exponentially worse than the sealed capsules inside the bottle. I have never experienced this with any other brand and all four bottles of the Nutribio brand were contaminated/compromised. Clearly, there is a lack of quality control and quality of ingredients associated with this brand. I have since purchased another brand with the same forms of zinc and magnesium, and they have virtually no taste or smell. I wish I would’ve returned the Nutra-bio brand as soon as I got them and not assumed the new sealed bottles to have been safe and uncompromised. I would highly recommend you seek another brand. If it was just one bottle and the other three were good, I would assume it was just a fluke. However, every single bottle was bad and I find it very hard to believe the company didn’t know. Surely the knew and received reports they had sent out an entire bad batch and should have recalled them from the consumer. I recently saw another post from a customer reporting the same horrible smell, but it looks like the seller or manufacturer has had Amazon remove that bad review. If Nutrabio reaches out with any kind of explanation or resolution I will update this review.
