Can the mixer be used while it’s on the shelf?

Yes it can. I have an electric socket inside the cupboard so it’s permanently plugged in. There is a space between the worktop and the shelf when it’s up so the wire can go through. If you’re making something heavy you have to make sure the mixer doesn’t work it’s way off though.

Completely awesome

Ordered this because I couldn’t buy one from any of the kitchen shops.I can now lift my kenwood to the level of the work surface without any strain on my back. It means I’m using it much more.It took a while to arrive and we had to get the kitchen fitter to fit it as it was a little complicated but it’s my favourite thing in my new kitchen.

Post Installation Review

Just installed Rev-A-Shelf Soft Close to a new kitchen. Seems to do the job well and I like the fact that I can just release the catches, step away and watch the soft close mechanism stow the mixer away, back into the cupboard. As our kitchen was extended and completely rebuilt we put the Rev-A-Shelf on an island and had a power socket installed in the cupboard to supply the mixer. If you are looking for a downside then be prepared to effectively lose a whole cupboard for storing the mixer.
