Q: Can you join the right and left hand zip to make a larger bag?

I was able to and it is why I bought them ... if I remember correctly the bug net may not have quite worked when they are both together

Q: is the mosquito headnet internally supported to keep it off your face when you are inside the bag?

No it does not have internal support

Q: What is the low end temp on this bag

you have to add 10 degrees to whatever a manufacturer says is their lowest temp rating, this is true with any sleeping bag.

Q: whats the difference between this and the desert storm?why is the desertstorm cheaper?

This has bug net diamond fiber anti bacteria coded and for the small compact size ..and when I say small I mean light and tight .I would go for this bag its just everything you want in a 3 season bag id say get a liner at wall mart for it just to keep it clean and fresh adding a little more warmth on those wet and cooler days.
