On the first novel :–The story is a brilliant combination of supernatural stuff & thriller. We get to read the story from Mackenzie's point of view so, there's no other character's POV. We get to meet some amazing side characters. I liked the writing style very much & the concept of the story is brilliant. We also get to see how different people grieve in their own different ways as Mackenzie's family does just after loosing their 10years old son. This story is compact with thrill, adventure, some hand to hand combat, importance of family & friendship.Sometimes the plot felt kinda predictable but nonetheless it's a very gripping story.So, if you're a fan of supernatural thrillers & mysteries you should definitely check this book out.On the second novel :–This book was the perfect ending to the story, totally satisfying. Like a coming of age tale with the fusion of paranormal fiction. Victoria Schwab beautifully portrayed Mackenzie's character. What it likes to handle the stress of loosing your dear ones & living a second life full of secrets & dangerous tasks while also dreaming about a normal life that you could probably have. It feels totally real. We also get to see how nice it feels to let someone in, to share our troubles with them who understands & help us to get through it from Mackenzie & Wesley's relationship.

Schwab, I understand EXACTLY why she has such a huge and quite loyal fanbase – her ability to create such unique plots with vivid and absolutely breath-taking worlds and characters you can’t help but root for; even if they are some of the greyest characters ever to grace our fictional lives!THE DARK VAULT is a binded copy of the two novels - The Archived and The Unbound – marvellously written and easily peaking the interest of the readers right from the start – easily evoking immense versatile emotions – fear, apprehension, heart pounding excitement, intrigue, anxiety, and a whole lot of bittersweet happiness throughout the reading of the book!Mac, our protagonist, a teenager and her family is reeling from the unexpected death of her younger brother – move to a new place, to be able to move on and a relationship with her parents that is as fragile as it is lost. The only thing that is keeping Mac sane is working as a KEEPER at the Archived; someone whose job it is keep History (what a dead person is called at the Archive) where it belongs – a job she inherited from her grandfather after he passes away!What she doesn’t expect is to cross paths with another Keeper (ah! Wes, you adorable little muffin!) as well as a History that will challenge not only what she has learnt 7 been told about the Archive; but her own wants and needs!Like always, its easy to get lost in the wonderfully crafty and so unique world that Schwab has created and I, so thoroughly relished getting lost in it – though there were some plot twists (like, the whole school business & their classmates!) I honestly did not think or even understand why the plot actually needed! Yet still, like other books by Schwab, it’s still an engaging and an atmospheric read!

I absolutely loved this book. It held my attention right from the start till the end & after I finished it as well. The characters, the writing style, the world building..everything was beautiful. The book had some of the the most perfectly written characters for me. The female protagonist was fierce and brave & the male protagonist was sweet, super cute and funny..the perfect combo. This was one of my favourite series that I read last year. It was a perfect blend of mystery, thrill, morbidity, romance and angst.Even though this is the only book that I have read of her's till date...she has become one of my auto-buy authors now. ❤

This was such a good book! It had an eerie feel to it and I really loved it for that. The concept is really good, the characters are amazing. I enjoyed it a lot. The only problem is that I can't get the sequel on amazon and I'm just left wondering what's going to happen next! Anyway, it arrived in perfect condition and on time, plus just look at the cover, it's beautiful
