His is also an amazing teacher. This is the text for his course Food as Medicine which I am taking along with his course Inside Ayurveda, and all I can say is that I am learning a lot. I was growing weary of feeling as though I was blowing in the wind with the latest fad for nutrition. Here is some solid theoretical base from which I am grounding myself and have a basis for later evaluating what comes down the pike through the lens of history and solid experience most of which has been tried for thousands of years. If you love to learn, this is a great resource. I am hoping to move one of these years, and this book will stay by my side.

what absorbs best, how the body uses food)
It contains very helpful knowledge on cooking, nutrition (how to eat, what to eat, what absorbs best, how the body uses food), how to navigate through ayurvedic and western nutrition, and provides lovely recipes in the very back. I have yet to find a page that I am not fascinated to read. I am currently reading the book hodge-podge right now, opening to random pages to learn random things... and I've learned something from every page to every paragraph. It is worth the purchase.

still wondering
I read this book with interest as it challenged my opinions on some aspects of nutrition and provided some worthwhile new info. At the end, however, I was left wondering how much is supported by reliable evidence and how much is speculation, opinion and/or "old wives tales". I respect the author's intent and passion for the subject but remain unconvinced.

This book was recommended by a friend. I am still in the process of reading it. Lots of info and a few recipes, helps you understand that food is medicine and we can heal our body by just eating the right foods for our body.
