Disappointing.I was looking for a Moleskine alternative that had pure white pages, scored so I could remove them for scanning on a daily/weekly basis, rather than waiting until the notebook is full and cutting off the binding to scan the pages.When I received this journal it was very stiff to open,and the front pages tore from the spine. I continued to gently thumb the pages to loosen the spine, but it was still very stiff to open flat for writing. I tried to remove some pages and it was very hard to tear the pages off at the score rather than ripping it from the binding.Overall, for me, the notebook is not what I was hoping for. I will work with it for a while and see how it is in the day-to-day, but overall I am disappointed.

I love ecosystem journals, preferring them even to Moleskins. Substantial covers (I like the hardcovers, though they're available with flexicovers), great colors (they need to add more; I'm doubling up), PERFECT line spacing and thickness, lines that span the whole page, nice paper weight and texture that feel good in your hand, big pocket, recycled, recyclable, made in the US, what else could you ask for? The enclosing elastic band material is a bit soft, but that's negligible. Note that hardcovers come with more pages than flexicovers. Did I mention the color-matched bookmark ribbon? The small size hardcover is also excellent and even more portable.

Buy another one. Very solid journal for notes. 12 more words are required so I can leave this text box.
