We did a total kitchen remodel and this is the range hood we installed. It was delivered well packaged and in perfect condition. The install went as you would expect if you've ever installed a range hood. It's been in use for a few months and works as well or better than advertised. Good air flow and looks great. A tad loud but once you realize the amount of air its moving the noise level seems about right.

Product arrived well packed and with all stainless steel parts nicely protrected with a peel-away film. Installation is straight forward. We ducted out of the wall directly behind the unit on a first story apartment. The light was a nice bonus, but the fan suction is remarkable. No more smoke alarms every time we cool. Don't hesitate on this one.

UPDATE 26-June-2121:Two years after initial install, we are still thrilled with this range hood. It works very well, and we would buy it again.When I first bought this unit in 2019, it was rated as a 760CFM range hood. This same product is now rated as 380CFM.The online user/install manual has been updated since our original purchase (see mfr product page here: https://cosmoappliances.com/cos-668as900-36-inch-stainless-steel-wall-mount-range-hood-with-digital-touch-controls-glass-canopy/). The updated manual is still missing some steps, and still completely omits mention of the required wall outlet behind (and off-centre from) the chimney.Some design changes have been made, particularly for the chimney and its wall mount(s). There is now an 'oil cup' for the fan motor.UPDATE 28-Nov-2019:Replacement fan motor has been received and installed, it made a big reduction in noise and vibration level.A photo of the finished installation has been added.This is a long review, so grab a cup of coffee...Pros:1. Elegant looks2. Best of class pricing (Amazon price beats everyone, by quite a bit)3. Shipping/packaging is excellent4. Performance - 760 CFM is near the top end of what is available for "residential" range hoods5. Despite the poorly written install instructions, assembly is pretty straightforward (but not for the timid).6. Materials look robust enough for residential use.7. LED bulbs (2), they should last forever.8. Responsive customer service.Cons:1. Install instructions are somewhat 'generic' and incomplete, some details are simply incorrect, so you have to 'read between the lines'... A LOT. If you require specific detailed instructions which you will meticulously follow to the letter, you should not try to install this range hood yourself.2. The digital clock is strictly 'military' 24-hour display, a relatively minor nit.3. The grease filters fit securely, but they rattle a bit, which adds to the noise level A LOT. Foam tape to dampen the vibrations helps. A minor nit, as the countermeasure is quite simple, but the difference (improvement) is dramatic.4. The lights are better than nightlights, but not by much. This is not a serious deficiency, as the tempered glass canopy doesn't block ambient light. If the entire range hood was steel, then the lighting would be a serious issue.Install experience:The range hood fan as originally received seemed to be unbalanced enough to cause excessive vibration. After contacting Cosmo via phone (they are responsive!), I was asked to record video of the fan, in action, and send the video via email for review. They decided to send a replacement fan motor, which I have not yet received (I will update the review when the new fan motor is installed). Cosmo gets bonus points for this.I am an engineer by background, a handyman as a 2nd career. Cosmo (and other manufacturers) say that 6" ductwork for a 760CFM fan is sufficient. I went with 8" ductwork, to increase fan efficiency and keep noise to a minimum. Consider that 760 CFM air flow through a 6" duct tallies out to 64 linear feet per second air flow -- that's 44 miles per hour! Increasing duct size to 8" diameter scales this down to 36 lfps, or roughly 25 MPH.Cosmo includes flexible ducting with the unit. This should be discarded in favour of rigid ducting with smooth sides. The smooth rigid ducting is sturdier, less noisy (less turbulence), and will retain less grease than flexible ducting.When attaching sections of ductwork, do not use metal screws. The screws create additional turbulence (e.g. wind noise), they will trap grease, and if they loosen over time due to vibration they will rattle. Instead, use lots of high-quality metal foil HVAC tape. Also, arrange the sections of duct as you piece them together so that the 'male' ends are pointing away from the fan. Again, this reduces turbulence (noise) and reduces grease retention points.The motor housing hangs on a narrow bracket which is attached to the wall. This bracket has 3 holes for screw attachment, and Cosmo supplies plastic drywall expansion anchors for these screws. The bracket is only about 9" wide. In an ideal situation, there will be a wall stud behind the bracket, in which case you should make sure the bracket is screwed to the stud (even if you need to drill a hole through the bracket where the stud is located). In my case, the bracket was located between studs. I do not entirely trust plastic expansion drywall anchors, especially in applications such as this, with persistent vibration, so I used only 2 of them. For the 3rd attachment hole I used a 3/16" toggle bolt.The install instruction do not mention that an outlet will be needed in the wall above the fan mounting bracket. The outlet must fit inside the ~11" width of the chimney, but off-centre enough so that the duct does not block access to the outlet.All vibration of the fan will be transmitted to the wall on which it is mounted, unless you isolate the vibration with soft rubber pads between the wall and motor housing. There are isolation pads included in the kit, but they are hard as rocks and useless. To add insult to injury, there is no guidance whatsoever where to mount the rubber bits to the housing. Discard these useless things. What I found to be very effective is M-D auto/marine rubber weatherstrip tape with adhesive backing. See https://www.amazon.com/M-D-Building-Products-1033-inchAll-inch/dp/B000I1QHA8 (also available at big box stores).The lower chimney sits directly on the motor housing, there is a recessed channel in the housing for the chimney. Stuff some bits of the M-D rubber weatherstrip tape into the mounting channel, this will isolate the chimney from the fan vibration.The illustration of the inner (upper) chimney sliding inside the outer (lower) chimney is incorrect, there are no orientation slots (see Step 4, detail K). Just ignore this and move on.The instructions direct you to attach the lower chimney to the motor housing with screws, but the screw positions are on the rear (against the wall) side of the fan housing. This means you need to attach the lower chimney to the fan housing *before* you hang the fan housing on the wall, which means you need to attach the duct to the fan housing before you mount the housing on the wall. I didn't even try to do this.Instead: Mount the fan housing on the wall first (with the rubber bits). Then attach the ductwork. Then simply set the chimney on top of the fan housing (don't forget the rubber bits) without bothering to attach the two with screws. The chimney sets nicely in a recessed channel in the fan housing, with no worry whatsoever.I wrapped the 8" rigid duct with fiberglas insulation. At the exterior wall end of the duct, I added a backdraft damper (this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0711LLMKW). The Cosmo range hood has a backdraft damper, but I wanted a damper closer to the outside wall. Finally, there is the exterior wall vent, I chose this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056F1VIO which includes a varmint screen.The backdraft damper is designed to be the 'male' fitting on both sides. If you need a crimper to fit all the bits together (i.e. to crimp 'female' duct end down to 'male' size), these work well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OJ0KPBGFinally, the grease filters fit confidently into the fan housing, but they are just loose enough to rattle. So a bit of thin foam tape is needed to quiet them down. I used double-sided mounting tape, leaving one side covered (non-sticky), because it was 0.1" thick (see https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Mounting-0-75-inch-350-inches-110-LongDC/dp/B009NP1OBC). I can't emphasize enough how much this little bit reduces the overall noise level!

The Cosmo COS-668WRC75 760 CFM 30-inch Ducted Wall-Mount Stainless Steel Range Hood was the crowning jewel in our full-kitchen renovation project. Stunningly beautiful sleek design stands out for its elegance. The powerful exhaust fan is a bit loud but very efficient --whereas most others are very loud and barely efficient. The LED lighting is wide and bright, providing excellent illumination of the entire cooking area. We love the control panel, up front and easy to access and operate. Overall, an excellent product, we are very happy with and highly recommend.

Looks great, awesome suction power, and super great value. Highly recommend. I spent the same amount as my original design which involved a $120 cabinet and an $80 hood. This made my kitchen remodel look that much better. Installation is super easy (of course the vent stuff is always fun like legos. Just used a 7” to 6” reducer since this vent hood comes with a 6” and I had a 7” vent in the ceiling)

The control buttons for this range hood are held together by two tiny plastic tabs. Both broke within a few months of installation. Repairs were very difficult and our only option was to use epoxy to glue the control bar back in place. Hopefully this will work because, although it is a beautiful piece of machinery, if the buttons don’t work, it’s nothing but a statue. There simply is no excuse for this type of shoddy construction.Uodate: these same buttons have broken again! Save yourself the incredible frustration of trying to fix it! It is almost impossible to do. Do not buy this! It is completely useless

I bought this because it didn't have any stupid front panel lights or a clock, and was simple and affordable. The fan on low is perfect, the fan on high is crazy loud, but it's there if you need its power.The install is a little finicky, but the worst part is the blue plastic they use to wrap these things...it's a terrible waste of time and energy. Surely there is a better way??? I still love it regardless.The LED color is not my favorite spectrum, but i'll replace them later down the road.
