Hard to rate - great content, but publisher cheaped out on the printing
Hard to rate this - great content, but publisher cheaped out on the printing so that, although the author's content is excellent, the publisher rendered the book difficult and frustrating to use due to presentation. The example boards are too tiny to be useful at all, especially since the super-tiny guide letters/numbers at the edges of the board are grey on grey - on paper that is not white to begin with, and illegible without a good magnifying glass, which is a pain in the you-know-what. I resent paying that much only to find the book pretty much unusable for me because of the publisher's cheap presentation of the content. The publisher of "Everything Scrabble" charged less, even though their presentation was excellent. So it was just money-grubbing on the publisher's part for this book.It is impossible to tell double/triple/word/letter squares apart from each other. Take a look at the "Everything Scrabble" book and you will understand what I mean. I have the older edition that actually has colored bonus squares - and also very black font on very smooth, white text/paper for the guide letters/numbers.While I would welcome content from the author, Todd Kreisman, I will avoid anything published by Richard Loxley. Loxley took great content and made it worthless due to greedy publishing decisions. The price was very high compared to "Everything Scrabble" ($15 to $11) and "Everything Scrabble" is a much larger book, made of better materials. My only complaint about "Everything Scrabble" (my older edition) is that I don't want solutions to be upside down in another part of the book (why upside down if they are in another section of the book anyway???).

I enjoyed this book very much
Since there are so few Scrabble books, it's a low bar to clear. I enjoyed this book very much. The concept is the author goes through a series of games he played with opponents of varying strength, from easier to more difficult opponents as the book moves on. He goes through his through process from move to move. I find this to be an effective way of teaching games of skill, and it's entertaining as well. Many Scrabble books feature word lists, which is a necessary skill, but about like watching paint dry in terms of being interesting to read. This book has very little in the way of lists (not necessary, since lists are handled by other books), and has material which is fun to read.

Amazing Improvement in my Score
I play Words with Friends and I have moved from a rank of 61 to 15 since I started reading this book. Thanks to good rack rack management I am seeing more Bingos than ever. I thought this would be another useless book, and some times I have to force myself to follow the advice in the book, but then I am happy that I followed the advice. Thank you Todd for writing this book.

This has been an indispensable treasure trove of useful strategies for me
This has been an indispensable treasure trove of useful strategies for me. Going through games the author has played against increasingly adept players, pointing out good moves as well as mistakes made by both sides has been very helpful in improving my game

the guys vocabulary is insane
I tried to return the book and it wouldn't let me. I tried a sample and will call them and see if I can get them to return it as I only bought the book yesterday. He's a great player because he has a word reccall level like a google search engine. I am an AVID reader and have never even SEEN (much less know the meaning of) some of the words he uses in his examples. For instance did you know the word IFF was a scrabble choice? Not me. I've never even SEEN the word. And there are tons more. Sure if you have a photographic memory swell you'll win a lot of games even if you don't use his stratgy tips (which I admit are good) If I can't return the book his list of 2 and 3 letter words are good but I could have gotten them on the internet.

If you like Scrabble, buy it!
Not sure if advanced players will enjoy this book as much as I do. It's the only book I found that explains different moves with players at different levels and different strategies. It's outdated regarding vocabulary as it is from 2011. You just have to add the new words to the list. For example, you just have to add ZE and OK on pg 31. I also recommend Scrabble secrets by Mark Nyman and you'll be ready to face some Scrabble challenges .
