Retro Phone Handset/Mobile Receiver 60s Micro by Opis, Germany (Cream)

I'm using this retro handset with both my iPhone 15 (via a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter) and my laptop for calls — and I love it! The sound quality is excellent, it reduces electro smog, and it's much more comfortable to hold during longer conversations than a mobile phone or headset.At first, I thought the microphone was defective because people couldn't hear me. Thankfully, the customer service was fantastic and quickly sent me a troubleshooting checklist. The issue turned out to be user error: I hadn't fully plugged the 3.5mm handset plug into the USB-C adapter. It needs a bit of force to snap in, but once it's properly connected, it works flawlessly and stays secure.Great product — just make sure all the plugs are firmly seated!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:AWESOME and ACTUALLY works!!! Yahoo! Get the adapter they recommend if needed, it is perfect. Excellent quality. ONLY complaint is I wish it had a hang up and volume buttons on the handset.

When I first used this with the USB, it was wonderful. That lasted about a month. It was just okay using only the jack. Now - a couple months later - it doesn't work at all. Unfortunately, didn't get around to returning it in time. So I'm stuck with it. When I asked the Q&A why it quit working, the answer was that customers didn't like this product for that reason. Gee - thanks, Amazon.

Finally, I can hear people on my cellphone clearly without it being on speaker phone. Using a handset is very intuitive, and this device doesn't require connecting blue tooth. However, sometimes the things people say sound muffled, and I can't understand what they say. It could be they aren't speaking directly into their phone's microphone. They only way to know is if both people use the same handset, I guess. Conversations at multiple businesses sounded pretty well.

The handset is more stable than I expected, it feels like a real telephone handset (also in terms of weight). I can easily clamp it on my shoulder/ear. Works fine with my Iphone 16, have ordered 2 more for work. However, the 3.5mm plug has to be firmly inserted into the USB-C adapter socket, but then it holds very well.

I'm using the OPIS 60s micro handset with my iPhone 15. At first, I thought it didn’t work—the mic didn’t pick up my voice. Then I realized the plug wasn’t fully inserted into my USB-C adapter. Once I pushed it in all the way, everything worked perfectly! The audio is clear, the retro design is a fun twist, and it’s much more comfortable for long calls than holding the phone to my ear. I also bought this to reduce direct mobile phone radiation to my head—and it’s a great solution for that too. Highly recommended!

Guess I am disappointed. Bought this for the wife who has an apple phone with a lightning plug. Bought the accessory cord. No matter what she does the handset will not work.As I have an android phone it works fine but this wasn't for my use. But now it is. My only complaint/suggestion is that the handset provides no 'feedback' as the phones this is meant to mimic used to do. I grew up on those phones and the feedback was an important aspect. VERY sorry it's lacking here. I also think the volume is too low even with my Samsung Galaxy turned up to maximum.So great idea/concept from my fellow Germans, but there are some tweaks that need attention.

I just received my Opis Retro Phone Handset for my Samsung Galaxy Cell Phone. It is just as pictured & as I remembergrowing up (75yo). Very Retro (red). Started using it right out the box. There's nothing to do really. Just plug it in your android port. It works well. The voices are clear both for sender and receiver. I may surprise my sister with one.
