The Little Prince (Wordsworth Collector's Editions)

A beautiful book that I've only just had the pleasure of reading in my forties (better late than never) Now I understand why people are so taken with this story, though I do feel it will be better received by adults. Such lovely sentiment, a definite keepsake, and a book I know I'll return to again and again for such beautiful wisdom. (This Wordsworth Classic edition is also a delightful little edition)

What an amazing story. Some might say it's overly sentimental, but it has the fundamental advantage of expressing a deep universal truth about what living is really about. I strongly recommend this book.

I bought this as a gift. The only downside is that the pictures are black and white unlike other versions. This story is one that I treasure for its simple philosophy and beautiful words.

This children’s classic is just the most timeless, exquisite reminder of what is, and should be of value to us. I only have a vague recollection of this book from childhood, so when I saw this beautiful Wordsworth Edition, I decided to read it again. Whilst this is considered a children’s classic, I honestly think there is so much more in this book for adults than for children. The story is of a pilot in a broken down plane in the desert, and of The Little Prince he meets who tells him of his journey across different planets. And, through the innocence and open mind of a child, shows the reader how ridiculous the trivialities and vices made important by adults actually seem. The Little Prince reminds us to open our hearts and minds, to forget our prejudice, and remember the true purpose behind our actions. It is through our sensitivity, our openness to beauty and sadness that we truly feel. A much-needed hour of escapism...and a book I feel I will revisit when overwhelmed with trivialities to remind myself of what is really important.

Love the story and a cute edition, the illustrations however were not that sharp but still nice.
