Perfect for a little helper!
This toy is a blessing and a curse. I don’t get why kids love to clean but they do. My 2 year old loves this so much. She saw one at a friends house and it caused a fight over all the kids who wanted to play with it. Now we have our very own that kids love to fight over. With that being said, it is completely worth the price and teaches the importance of helping and cleaning. She loves to help mommy and daddy clean the house and we love encouraging it. Let’s hope it sticks as a teenager. This a great toy especially as a gift. The toy is a little bulky but the stand is awesome and sits nicely next to a play kitchen or a corner. Strong and sturdy and last through heavy play. I think this will be around for years to come!

Such a cute set!
The Melissa & Doug Let's Play House set is the cutest mop set I've seen for kids! My 3 year old is always begging to help me clean the house or sweep the back porch, so this is PERFECT for him! This is probably going to be his favorite birthday gift he receives! It comes with 6 items: a mop, broom, duster, dust pan, dust brush and the stand for it to all stay organized when it's not in use. The colors are bright and vibrant and the quality is AMAZING! The fact that it's a wooden set is perfect, as my kids are rough with toys and this will last a lot longer than an all plastic set. LOVE LOVE LOVE Melissa & Doug products!! As far as the shedding mop head and bristles falling out of the broom that others have mentioned, I'll have to come back to update in January after my son's birthday - but with my experience with all other Melissa & Doug toys, we've never had any issues with them. These are obviously toys that I'm not going to clean my house with (or expect my kids to really clean with either).

For the Cleaning Kids
I got this for my nephew last year because he's obsessed with all things cleaning. He loves vacuums and mops, washers, dryers, etc. I think it's pretty cute. :-) This was a really nice set, and I was able to get it on sale. Melissa and Doug never disappoints, they have well made toys. Before purchasing this for your child you have to take into consideration that this toy isn't on a screen, it doesn't light up or make noises. If they'll be ok with that, then I think this would definitely have a place in your toy room. A child that needs more stimulation from a toy might not be drawn to this one though. We haven't had any of the issues that others have mentioned with it coming apart or breaking, and my 2 nephews are pretty rough with their toys. Maybe some units aren't properly secured together leading to the breakage? Not really sure, but I've always had great success with Melissa and Doug. Highly recommend!

Sturdy and surprisingly Fun for Kids
I bought this so my grandchild, who is attending Montessori, would have a way to pretend to help out at home. But amazingly, both she (who is 3) and her brother (who is 18 months) fight over this and they genuinely want to use them properly. They don't think that they ARE pretending, they think they are helping. I think that the high quality wood and realistic look of them makes them seem like adult items and not toys to the children. They have been a real hit and the stand makes it easy to store them wherever you think they will be used, such as the kitchen.

Sturdy & great practical life
Everyone loves this set! I originally purchased this for my 18month old daughter since she loves to help Momma around the house. She is two now and uses them daily to clean up messes. The broom and dust pan actually work well. The duster works well but doesnt hold the dust as many newer styles do. But it definitely gets the job done and it's a great kid version on cleaning tools we use in real life. Each item is well built with wood and very sturdy. Kids from ages 18m-10 years have used them in my house and they are still in perfect condition. I just bought my 2 year old niece her own set since she loves helping around her home as well. This is a excellent practical life "toy" for all ages.

Cute AND functional
I LOVE this set. . We got this for my 1 year old as a Christmas(2015) gift. Since he started walking he has had a fascination with watching and helping me clean. Getting him his own set of cleaning stuff has been great. . He will actually take the broom, fox-tail, and dustpan and attempt to clean up his messes lol. . So, in a way it's actually functional. All the tools are well made but the reason I gave it 4 stars is because the threads on the stand wore out quickly. It would wiggle loose in the beginning but after about a month, we went to screw it back in and it wouldn't stay at all. I tried gluing it, but my son wiggled the glue loose. Even with the glue in there, the male threads on the wood aren't even trying to grip the female threads on the base. It's not a huge deal as here we are in July and he still uses all of the cleaning tools, and I haven't given up on trying to find a solution to get the stand to work again, but the stand is great for storing so it would be great if it would function. GREAT toy though. I would buy this again.

Teaching responsibility early!
You cannot go wrong with this toy! My son has had this since he was 3 and he is now 6 and still uses it. It is one of those toys that teaches kids to mimic what they see their parents doing and I love that! I think this is definitely a toy that every child needs!

I think she would snuggle with it in bed if I let her
When our daughter's 2-year birthday was coming up, we noticed that all she ever seemed to want to play with were our kitchen and outdoor brooms. Being full-sized, these were of course too unwieldy and awkward, and she would end up knocking things off of counters or banging them into walls. I wanted to find her some small toy version to replace them. We planned to buy them for her birthday, and I found this set, hoping she would find it acceptable. Um, instead it has pretty much been the holy grail of toys for her. She won't let go of what she calls her beloved "sweeper" - we practically have to rip it from her hands and hide it from her in the morning to get her out the door, to much tears and flailing of limbs. The broom is the biggest hit out of them all, but she uses each of the cleaning toys at times. I have her on video manically chanting "sweeper and mop!!" while pounding them both into the floor in mimicry of sweeping and mopping. She climbs up on the couch with "sweeper" to watch cartoons. She tries to hold on to it while eating dinner (nice try, kid, but no dice). She runs away from us when it's bedtime, maybe partially because she doesn't want to go to bed, but probably 90% because she can't bring the dang broom into her crib with her. I am completely stumped as to why this tiny version of cleaning implements brings her so much joy, but I've stopped questioning it and have begun accepting the fact that I'm saying things to my daughter like "only 5 more minutes of sweeping the floor, honey," and "if you don't listen to Mommy, you'll have to put 'sweeper' away." The handles are made of real wood and are quite sturdy, the storage stand is well-crafted and has little notches to hang the brooms/mops from (and also doubles as a pretend microphone stand for a toddler), and the bristles are soft and sturdy. My husband actually used the broom and dustpan to clean our entryway when he couldn't find our "real" broom one night before company was coming over. The only downside was watching the disappointed face of her grandmother when our daughter completely ignored grandma's present of a little dollhouse in favor of waving her broom all over the place. Sorry, grandma! :-/
