this is the best tool I have used to streamline
As an engineer, this is the best tool I have used to streamline, automate and explain the process to my peers and managers. This book “gets it” when it comes to streamlining operations and cutting costs. It gets right to the point and easily helps you understand that there is a better, efficient, and controlled way of managing production.Plan for every part (PFEP) is a mantra that every great engineer should have already conceptualized. This book with bring all those ideas you have into the light and makes the connections you thought about, but never really put together.Though not very long, it provides a quick and easy read that peers and managers alike can quickly digest and comprehend. It is a must for any engineer trying to can the way their plant/factory/system does business.

Disappointing
While this is probably the only book on PFEP in the market and that the authors worked in Toyota, the content of the book is poorly presented and lack in strong content.

Good book - Do not rent or purchase for non tablet devices though!
This is a good book for understanding PFEP and how its implementation can help at a manufacturing plant. The writing is easy to understand and follow. I have a problem with the images in this book though. The various images that the authors have used in plenty throughout the book(tables, value stream maps, forms, etc) are too small to read. Kindle for PC doesn't let you zoom into the images, so if you're renting/purchasing this book for a non-tablet device you are basically left with an useless version of the book, where images are tiny and you cannot zoom in either. Even using a magnifier program for windows couldn't help me read the text in the images because it's pixellated. The authors should have made readable(text based) tables and diagrams(blocks and shapes with text in them) instead of inserting an image in a kindle book. This makes large and very important portions of the ebook unreadable.Overall quality of the content is great, ebook delivery is terrible. The authors and publishers could have put more care into how the content is presented. It's as important as the content.

Excellent Book
Solid approach to rapid, sustained improvement. Good details of how to improve, why and the approach to get there. Data and details are key, and this book uses solid demonstration with very practical use of the data in transformation / improvement activity.
