Female plug on the adapter breaks after a few months of normal use.
Of course the charger works fine just long enough that you won't be able to take advantage of the Amazon return policy (1 month). I use my laptop daily mostly to watch videos/movies, browse the web and play computer games. This is the second time I bought this laptop charger. The first time I bought this charger was in February to replace the original adapter that came with the laptop because it was getting old and the plug wasn't very secure anymore. So I got it in February and it broke in April. The little metal plugs inside the female connector port on the adapter broke off inside the adapter [see pictures]. They flop around freely with no way to plug the wall-cord back in. I assumed I was too rough with it or maybe my roommate tripped over it or something, but this is the THIRD charger I got in April, and here we are, less than 4 months later, and it broke in the same exact way! I opened this one up to see what the heck was going on in there. Turns out the thin plastic plate that holds the three prongs on the inside seems to get brittle and warped from heat which makes the plastic fragile which causes it to snap when you unplug the adapter! Ridiculous. They need to use better materials than this. The thing gets hot, but not so hot that you can't touch it or anything! It shouldn't have melted like that. And two times in less than 6 months? This is a 40 dollar item and it should last and be able to withstand the normal operating temperatures of charging your laptop.

Plug broke after 5 weeks of use
Plug was already very finnicky when I got it, I had to constantly move the charger around in the port to get it to charge. It's only been 5 weeks and already the charger just isn't working at all. I took it to a computer repair shop with my laptop and they confirmed that my computer was working great but that there seemed to be wire damage inside the plastic cord that's likely been there for a while. Unfortunately, getting a working charger for an Acer Nitro 5 seems weirdly impossible since Acer themselves always say they're out of stock, so if anyone has any other way to get this charger I'm all ears.
