ASTD Handbook: The Definitive Reference for Training & Development 2nd Edition

This is a great manual and all in the learning and development field should have one of their shelf. It is practical and easy to read with examples, case studies and stories. Great investment. I bought the hard cover so I could keep the quality up as I use and abuse it. My co-workers borrow the book frequently to reference content. Take a look at the 9 sections and all of the content included to help you decide if this is for you. I can't think of anything that they left out.

The book looks massive and gives the impression that you will be reading extremely long and boring chapters. In reality, the chapters are small and to the point. The content isn’t outdated and can be applied to real work experiences. A but pricey, but worth it.

For the high price of this book, it should be flawless. Sadly there are too many misspellings, punctuation mistakes and wrong author names mentioned.

Excellent updated reference guide for all employee development professionals and performance consultants! A must read, with added sections relevant to training (instructional designers, training specialists, etc.) and employee development functions with it's impact on organizational performance. Ms. Biech is on point once again!
