don't hesitate for it's a lovely, elegant set
really beautiful flatware service for eight plus sugar spoon, slotted serving spoon and meat forkI have an old set of the mixed gold and silver, some dinner forks somehow got lost over the years and it was not an expensive set, so the gold had rubbed off on some pieces but still loved the elegant look of mixed metals and always got a lot of complements from people, I saw this set on Amazon by Oneida which I know has a reputation for fine Quality dinnerware.as another person mentioned the dinner forks are larger as in European flatware sets which I didn't realize there was such a difference in our American dinner flatware. It has a nice balanced feel to each piece and perfect smooth finishIt came nicely packaged, each piece in its own bag to prevent any damage except for one of each in a strap on the top box so you can see the pieces before opening the whole box, yes, I love the look, and it goes well enough to add with and mix with what's left of my old set as to not be that noticeable .

Gorgeous
Ordered this serve flatware for my Christmas table. It did not disappoint. It is beautiful and elegant and just the right weight for use. TIt came with serving spoon, fork and butter and sugar spoon pieces. The gold is not overly brilliant but just the right amount of gold accent to compliment my china with 24kt gold edging. I looked at other serving ware before settling on Oneida. Oneida is a well known name and has never failed to provide lasting quality. I have not used them yet so I can't say how they will do once used and cleaned, but I usually wash nice serve ware by hand and tend not to trust a dishwasher.

Very pleased with style and ease of cleaning.
3 years later and still no wear or tarnish to this set. I love it. I think we might need more. We really abuse this flatware, leaving coffee on them and other sticky substances. Everything washes off beautifully. Would definitely recommend it.* * *I'm pretty much in love with this flatware. I wanted a trendy gold set after we redid our kitchen, but they were all pricey so I tried to buy a "vintage" set off ebay. That was a mistake, they were not in good shape and then stopped getting clean in the dishwasher.Given that, I'm probably primed to be overly excited about a decent set of flatware. Still, these wash so well in the dishwasher. We use 7th generation dishwashing liquid and rinse agent to avoid phosphates, but it doesn't always clean everything 100%. These seem to have no issue in the dishwasher and are mirror clean.I think someone said they weren't heavy enough for their taste, but I find them to be pretty substantial in the hand. As far as the gold and silver finish, after my used flatware escapade I've decided that the gold finish doesn't usually wear well because it's usually gold over stainless steel. This pattern allows for a nice amount of gold, but by not having it in the part of utensil you put in your mouth, I think the gold finish will last longer.Just in case someone is really picky, they are completely silver in the back, the gold finish is only on the front side (again, I suspect this is as much about durability as about profit).I found a hostess set online at a famous site that Replaces dishware, but this turned it to be unnecessary as there is a hostess set included here. I think it was a good deal, especially given the hostess set.

Gorgeous!
Very beautiful, the pictures did not do justice! They can be used everyday, or for a special occasions. I have the same pattern without the gold, & can mix and match for large parties. Nice heavy weight, and European size. The value was very acceptable. I haven’t had them long enough to evaluate the durability, but hope they last for a long time!

No sharp edges!!
Very classy set: appearance & quality both. The #1 thing I care about for flatware is the smoothness of the metal (and this set exceeded my expectations). Walk into a department store sometime and feel around the lip of the spoon and the backs of the fork handle. All the cheap flatware has sharp edges. Not sharp enough to cut, but just a scratchy sort of lip that you detect when you run your fingers across. For some reason, that drives me insane, in a fingernails-on-chalkboard sort of way.I can assure you that this set has none of that -- it exceeds my expectations!! The spoons were carefully rounded, with no sharp edges I could feel with my lips. The forks and knives have handles that are smooth to the touch on the backs. If you run your tongue sideways across the tongs of the forks, there is nothing rough or scratchy whatsoever. Now outside of the "edge-test" I will comment that this set is fairly heavy to hold, but in my opinion that adds a quality feel. The handles are slightly thicker than average (especially the knives). I'm hoping that will help durability. From a pure stylistic perspective, it is a great looking set. The polishing was done nicely.Note that since the Golden Mandolina sports a two-tone (silver/gold) design, this flatware may clash with certain styles of dinnerware design. It's worth considering whether your dinnerware sets will match.
