Fixing My Eyes on Jesus: Daily Moments in His Word (A 365-Day Devotional)

A friend gave me this book for a gift. It is the first book of this type I have ever had. I read it every morning, sometimes at night. Every day of the year has a Bible verse and a short anecdote to go with it. The anecdote relates the Bible verse to an every day moment in life. I have been more than once amazed at how uncannily accurate the day’s verse and anecdote have been. And by that I mean, it was just what I needed to read that day. Just what I needed to hear. I guess I didn’t read the part about who the author was until I was long into the book, when all of a sudden, the story spoke of her father, and then I realized her father was Billy Graham. I don’t know if that gave her an edge on picking really great Bible verses, but I’m sure it gave her a lot of experience when it came to relatable, anecdotes to go with the verses. I recommend this book to anybody wants to start their day, reminding themselves of how important it is to reflect daily on the power and the glory of God. This was given to me as a gift, and I got two more copies to give to family members. I haven’t given it to them yet. I hope they like it as much as I do.

I received this as a gift, and it became the gift that keeps on giving. It is a wonderful way to begin my day. The devotions are short but inspirational, moving, and full of wisdom. I keep this by my bedside and read it each morning and each evening. Since then, I've purchased this multiple times as gifts for friends. I highly recommend it. It's also an extremely good value. The front and back cover feel like a beautiful faux leather with gold scrolling. It's a great size and weight. I LOVE it!

I found God (again) this year after I took a DNA test I got for Christmas and found out my "dad" was not my father. I was already planning a weekend vacation to the beach and I just happened to find this out about a week before we left for Corpus Christi. The weekend was Easter, Good Friday to Easter Sunday.Of course my life was shattered. I arrived in CC crying and desolate and I left CC crying and somewhat more whole. God is a process. What changed while I was in Corpus Christi is that I found myself alone on the beach and crying out for want of a father, and a little voice in my head that I didn't recognize said, "You have an eternal father." I submitted and surrendered right there in the sand, and went to church in CC that Easter Sunday.On our way out of town that night at the airport, I saw this devotional and I was drawn to it. But it was airport prices, so of course I waited until I got home and ordered from Amazon. I have not regretted it. Lotz is an a truly devoted woman with great writing skills. While not every passage speaks to me, most do, as the one on the picture did. I love having time for God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit every day in my life, and it takes 5 minutes. It helps me understand Bible passages better. It gives me stuff to feel good about first thing in the morning, and topics to reflect upon every single day.Since Easter I have been given a few devotionals, but honestly, none that I have received are as good as this one by Lotz. I highly recommend.

The book itself is lovely. The binding is fantastic. It makes a wonderful looking gift. The devotionals themselves are a bit hokie and lack depth/relatability. That doesn’t mean this is a bad book or wouldn’t be nice for you - it just wasn’t for me.

Easy to read daily uplifting devotional ,simply inspiring.Short daily reading but to the point. Love it ,a gift for my wife and read it with her every morning.

I am enjoying this book of daily moments in God's Word, and the thoughts Anne Graham Lotz expresses to encourage me to fix my eyes on Jesus. Her thoughts are clear and plain and practical. Each days reading is short and to the point, making it possible to concentrate on her central theme for that day that points to Jesus.

A little book full of insightful thought lightly fused to a gospel passage. A small easy devotional for every day of the year.

I liked the content of this pretty book very much, Anne Graham Lotz’s books are excellent, however, the size is small and difficult to read, pale typeface on coloured paper just made it not suitable for my eyes! I am returning the book and will order on Kindle on this occasion, it’s cheaper too, although I would have preferred a paper copy.
