Colorful, High Quality, Durable, Comfortable
I was really disappointed when I opened them. First off, I already wasn't happy with the color I THOUGHT they were going to be. They look like a weird camel tan shade in the pictures, and I was already trying and struggling to match outfits in my head with them. But... they're ORANGE! Hahahahaha. I have very few things to match orange. But I do have a few things that go very well with them. And after wearing them, I know I'm just going to have to find new clothes to match, because they grew on me, and I absolutely love them. Inititial presentation is up to par, with what you'd expect from a good pair of boots, and then I love that they come with three different (albeit wild) colored laces. I wasn't excited about the red ones, but was pleased to see they at least had like a dark forest green I could rock (and then bright yellow. LoL). Materials all look and feel of good quality, and durable. Reminds me of a big brand of boots everyone wore when I was a teenager, and I loved, except more of a hiking version, and maybe even a step up from them. I think they're advertised as "soft toe", but the toes are very rigid. You have to push real hard to see that they're not steel or composite. Almost feels like there's an extra layer of something there, enforcing it. I hated the way the tongue folds in, along the middle. I thought that would be super uncomfortable, but it's not. That part hugs the top of your foot in a way that makes sense. It closes the gap between your foot and the bulk of the rest of the boot, and I Dig It. All in all, these boots are awesome, and Golden Retriever certainly has my attention. Would love to see more of their boots, as much as I like these. If you don't mind their being orange, I'm pretty sure you'll like them, too.

Comfortable Boots, Now with More Style
I needed a new pair of work boots. My old ones had officially given up. I spend my days on my feet, so comfort is the most important factor. I saw these Golden Retriever boots and decided to give them a try. They looked sturdy. The full-grain leather seemed promising. When the box arrived, the first thing I noticed was the boots felt incredibly comfortable right away. The CoolMax lining is a nice touch. They felt broken-in from the moment I put them on. The second thing I noticed was the extra shoelaces. They included a different color. They included red laces. I immediately removed the standard laces and installed the red ones. My boots now had a secret, stylish identity. I have been wearing them for work, and the comfort is real. The slip-resistant sole works well. My only wish is that they had a steel toe. They are advertised as hiking boots, and for that, they are probably perfect. You do not want the extra weight of a steel toe when you are climbing a mountain. Unless you are trying to build up your leg muscles with every step. For a work site, though, that extra protection is important. I find myself being very conscious of where my feet are. These are great boots. They are well-made, comfortable, and the extra red laces were a fantastic surprise. If they offered a steel-toe version, I would buy it without a second thought. For now, I will enjoy the comfort and look of my very comfortable, non-steel-toe work boots. Five stars for the quality and the excellent fashion choice of including red laces.

Orange colored- not tan
They are orange to start, which was disappointing. They are very comfortable though don’t look to bad with darker jeans, but they are not tan colored like the pictures!

Well made, gorgeous leather, but they’re orange.
My husband isn’t into garish shoes, unless they’re to wear to a football game and then they’ve got to be the proper Clemson orange. These are more of a Tennessee orange with a little bit of brown added to it. The construction is pretty amazing, and the tongue is one with the rest of the boot, but they’re not my husbands cup of tea. At all, unfortunately. Hopefully I can eventually figure out if one of the nephews can wear them— I think they might be better received and worn by someone under 30. I’m a petite female with small feet, or I’d happily wear them. I’m impressed with their build and I think they look pretty badass. Way too big for me though. Sigh.
