Super high quality; highly recommend
Have not used - yet, but this is very nicely made, substantial wood, and gorgeous, no cracks obvious, just gorgeous and best of all UNCOATED. LOVE that they are natural with nothing coating them so I can oil with my own organic oil. Ordering more of this one and more from this company. FINALLY, high quality wooden cooking utensils that are natural for me to coat myself. HIGHLY recommend!

Great but crack
Love these spoons!!! Tried a bunch of others but the solid feel on these are the best Only issue is they crack after about 5-6 months Hand wash and keep them oiled so no idea why they crack. Just bought 2 more to replace the last two

Some flaws, but for the price, still a great deal!
It's real olivewood, substantial and a great shape and size (note that it says 12", if you are looking for bigger, pay attention to measurements!). The wood grain is gorgeous. As for splinters, as a rule, I run sandpaper over all my wood cooking/utensil purchases as soon as I open the box and before washing, just in case, so I don't notice imperfections of that type anyway. That said, there were some very minor cracks in the wood, which I don't consider major flaws, but going to mark a star down for. Wood is mostly antiseptic, and I clean them pretty well, so minor cracks (do not go all the way through the wood) don't bother me much. The biggest reason I gave it the 4 stars is because visually, this is gorgeous and well carved, real olive wood, and hefty feeling. At this price, I actually expected minor flaws, and the 2 small crack/chips are ok for my use, but I would not gift it. Overall, I'd buy it again.

Beautiful wood utensils!
These are lovely olive wood utensils, I bought this spoon to add to several others I purchased a decade ago and am still using. Just reconditioned my others this last weekend, including some light hand sanding because I haven’t cared for them as well as I should have. They cleaned up very nicely and I’ve oiled them all including the new tool and waxed/buffed them for use. If you properly care for these wood tools they will last your lifetime, I’m sure. Very nice quality for the price!

A spoonful of potential let down by Poor Quality Control
What is otherwise a gorgeous and functional spoon seems to be let down by poor QC. Mine appears to have a knot or burl in the handle which was filled with a wood filler and not even properly sanded. Wood filler streaks remain outside of the fill area. The knot is also a weakpoint in the handle, and should not have been used for a handle without perhaps being stabilized and strengthed with something like an epoxy. Additionally, I am very hesitant about any kind of a filler being used in a cooking utensil. Any of the standard wood fillers tend to do poorly with wood movement(which a cooking spoon will encounter if it's used in the making of basically any food or even just being washed), and that's not taking into consideration what the makeup of the filler is and if it is food safe(and to what degree). The handle cracked at the knot under very slight pressure. As it stands, I will have to cut the handle, remove the weakened area and splice it back together with either a collar or some sort of joinery, then completely sand and refinish the spoon to make it useful(the original finish is okay, but a bit too rough for my liking anyway.) For reference I am a sculptor and fabricator who does a lot of work with wood. I ordered this spoon as I didn't feel I could justify the time to make one myself and loved the look of the olive wood(a wood I don't keep in stock). I hope the QC improves, as the spoon itself appears to have a good, functional shape and the wood is gorgeous. This could be a wonderful product for even double the price if it was executed with more care.

Best part 'not plastic/acryllic's'
So prefer for most cooking needs, better on good cookware, no scratching, lightweight, stearing away from plastic/synthetics. I do soak them a little in water and lemon juice, advised the lemon does the 'sterilizing' better than soap and water.

I bought this as a replacement for a cheap corner spoon that broke. Its slightly bigger than I thought it would be (based on the old spoon) but is very high quality and a pleasure to use. The olive wood is lovely, has a great feel to it and a very nice colour and pattern. After about 6 months of use it cleans up well and doesn't seem to stain at all. UPDATE We've been using this great spoon for just over 4 months now and its still like new. Cheaper wooden spatulas seem to stain very easily when cooking tomato heavy dishes such as pasta sauce, or the smell of a curry can become trapped in the wood grain. This spoon doesn't have these problems, it is still lovely to use, I highly recommend it. I've updated my rating from 4 to 5 stars, I'll be looking for more olive wood utensils in the future.

I love it.

I love this spoon so much. I love natural wood as it became almost rare in our lives. Olive wood is hard and looks wonderful in a rustic way. I also like the design of this spoon that works with most of the pots and bowls, round or flat bottom. I washed it and after drying I applied some olive oil. The wood looked happy by my treatment-olive oil to olive wood. I am sure it will last a lifetime if treated properly.
